An injection device for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel delivery pump and a high-pressure pump which are connected to one another via a low-pressure fuel line. A high-pressure accumulator is connected to the high-pressure pump. At least one injector is connected via a high-pressure fuel line to the high-pressure accumulator. The injection device also has at least one fuel return line which is connected to the high-pressure accumulator and/or to the at least one injector. The fuel return line issues into the low-pressure fuel line which connects the fuel delivery pump and the high-pressure pump to one another. At least one air bleed valve is arranged in the course of the low-pressure fuel line or on the high-pressure pump or on a filter housing.

Injection device for an internal combustion engine

A fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine includes a first and a second fuel pump, a leakage-prone volume flow regulating valve arranged in a fuel line between the first and the second fuel pump, and a control unit configured to actuate the first fuel pump as a function of a position of the leakage-prone volume flow regulating valve, such that the leakage-prone volume flow regulating valve serves as the sole actuating element for pressure regulation in the fuel injection system. An associated pressure regulating method is also disclosed.

A high-pressure pump arrangement () which can be especially used for a common rail injection system and has a pump member () that contains a low-pressure inlet () and a high-pressure outlet (). A pressurization chamber () is provided, within which a plunger () is movably mounted and which is connected to the high-pressure outlet via a high-pressure valve (). Furthermore, a suction chamber () that is fitted with a suction valve () is provided within the pump member. In addition, an intake duct () which extends between the low-pressure inlet and the suction chamber is provided within the pump member. The low-pressure inlet is connected to an electrically regulated pre-supply pump () which is permanently operated such that a low pressure is sure to be maintained in the suction chamber () of the pump.

High-pressure pump arrangement

In a method or a device for forming an electric control signal for an injection impulse of a position-controlled fuel injector, particularly of a common-rail or pump-nozzle injection system, the course of the electric control signal can be selected freely in regard to the pulse edges (injection rate changes Q), the holding period (&#x394;t) and the injection rate (Q). This offers the advantage that the combustion process can be better optimized with respect to low emissions, low consumption and for meeting tightened legal regulations.

An injection system for an internal combustion engine has a prefeed pump for feeding fuel from a fuel tank, a high-pressure pump, which is situated downstream of the prefeed pump, for feeding the fuel into at least two injectors, a fuel distributor which is situated downstream of the high-pressure pump and which is designed to distribute the fuel to the injectors, a pressure control or pressure limiting valve situated downstream of the high-pressure pump and by which the pressure to be produced in the fuel distributor can be adjusted or limited, and a pressure sensor for determining a pressure downstream of the high-pressure pump and upstream of the pressure control or pressure limiting valve, wherein the pressure sensor, the pressure control or pressure limiting valve and the fuel distributor are formed in a high-pressure module, and the high-pressure module is formed as a structural unit with the high-pressure pump.
