A fuel pump for an internal combustion engine, comprising a housing () in which a piston () is guided. A working chamber is confined in areas by the piston (). An eccentric shaft or camshaft acts on the piston () on its end furthest from the working chamber. A prestressing element () loads the piston () against the eccentric shaft or camshaft. In order to reduce the fabrication costs of the fuel pump, the invention provides that a support member () that is separate from the piston () is provided, which said support member is interconnected with the end region () of the piston () closest to the eccentric shaft or camshaft, and against which the prestressing element () bears.

The invention relates to a method for lubricating the teeth of a gear unit having a hollow wheel with an inner set of teeth and at least one pinion with an outer set of teeth that meshes with the inner set of teeth, and a gear unit with a hollow wheel with an inner set of teeth and at least one pinion with an outer set of teeth, which meshes with the inner set of teeth. To assure reliable supply of lubricant to the teeth during the operation of the gear unit, the invention proposes that the lubricant is introduced in a targeted way into the interior of the hollow wheel. The invention further proposes a gear unit, which has a device for the targeted delivery of lubricant into the interior of the hollow wheel.

A piston pump of the roller tappet type for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, particularly in common rail injection systems. A drive shaft that is supported in the pump housing and has a number of cam-like projections in the circumference direction. At least one tappet that is disposed in a cylinder chamber radially with regard to the drive shaft and in its radially inner end region has a rotatable roller which is supported so that it can roll in the circumference direction against the drive shaft in the region of its projections in order to reduce the wear in the region of the roller bearing. The pump is embodied so that a lubricant supply opening that leads from the circumference of the tappet and feeds into the radially inner tappet end region supporting the roller and at least during a part of the stroke, communicates with a lubricant supply line of the housing, which line feeds into the cylinder chamber.

A radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, with a drive shaft which is supported in a pump housing. The drive shaft has an eccentrically embodied shaft section upon which a ring is supported in sliding fashion by means of a bearing bush. The ring cooperates preferably with a number of pistons disposed radially in relation to the drive shaft each in a respective cylinder chamber. The eccentric shaft section and the ring are fixed in the axial direction by means of stop faces and a bearing gap is provided between the bearing bush and the eccentric shaft section into which gap lubricant travels from the inside of the pump housing. The relationship of the parts improves the supply of lubricant to the bearing gap and the hub end faces of the pump housing are embodied as conical so that a wedge-shaped gap is produced which narrows in the direction of the bearing gap.

The invention relates to a quantity control valve for a fuel injection system, used in internal combustion engines, which includes a longitudinal slide that is movable in a valve housing between a first and a second control chamber and that allocates the fuel, flowing in from at least one low-pressure pump, to at least one high-pressure pump. For driving the longitudinal slide, the inflowing fuel is delivered into the first control chamber via a throttle or baffle valve, past the longitudinal slide. In the second control chamber, there is either a restoring spring that urges the longitudinal slide in the direction of its closing position, or the longitudinal slide there has an effective face-end surface area upstream of which a control line containing a throttle valve ends; this end face is smaller in surface area than the effective surface area of the face end in the first control chamber. In the closing position, the longitudinal slide blocks off the outlet bore with one of its cylindrical guide portions, while with regard to the inlet bore it has a narrowed region, which opposite the longitudinal slide bore leaves a flow cross section open that changes gradually to zero in the direction of the guide portion. In the valve, the flow of fuel is controlled by a targeted manipulation of a cross section via a long slide stroke.

The invention relates to a quantity control valve for a fuel injection system, used in internal combustion engines, with a longitudinal slide that is movable in a valve housing between a restoring spring chamber and a control chamber and that allocates the fuel, flowing in from at least one low-pressure pump, to at least one high-pressure pump. For driving the longitudinal slide, the inflowing fuel in the control chamber is delivered past the longitudinal slide via a throttle or baffle valve. In the closing position, firstly, a cylindrical guide region of the longitudinal slide bounded on both sides by annular grooves blocks off an inlet bore. The guide region is wider than the diameter of the inlet bore. Secondly, it covers an outlet bore except for a partial intersection with the relieved annular groove shifted into the return in the opening direction of the longitudinal slide. By the disposition of the inlet and outlet bores in combination with the contour of the longitudinal slide, a zero quantity feed can be unambiguously represented in the blocking position of the longitudinal slide.

A pressure valve to be secured into a supply line between a pump work chamber of a fuel injection pump and a injection location of an internal combustion engine to be supplied with fuel. A pressure valve closing element provided with a sealing face is pressed by a compression spring onto a valve body provided with a valve seat. To reduce pressure waves in the supply line caused by a sudden closing of the pressure valve, a check valve that opens in the direction of the pump work chamber, and that comprises a valve seat, a valve closing element, a spring plate and a restoring spring is disposed in a through conduit of the pressure valve closing element, which is preceded by a throttle restriction. Throttling of the fuel flowing downstream of the check valve is avoided by disposing a through conduit in the spring plate. A filler piece inserted into the through conduit and defining the opening stroke of the check valve, also has a longitudinal bore that opens into a transverse bore for an unthrottled fuel flow.

A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, having a reciprocating pump piston that is guided in a cylinder liner, having a control slide that is axially displaceable on the pump piston, inside a lateral recess of the cylinder liner, and is moved via an adjusting shaft that is located in a transverse conduit disposed in a pump housing transversely to the cylinder axis. The transverse conduit intersects the housing bore that receives the cylinder liner in the region of a recess that form a partial suction chamber, forming a through opening for a lever of the control slide, and it also serves to drain fluid from the partial suction chamber. For hydraulic reasons, this through opening is embodied according to the invention by means of machining from the housing bore in tub-like fashion, and the control slide is also flattened, adapting to the enlargement, so that the high kinetic energy of the fuel stream emerging from the diversion bore and of the fuel flowing out to the transverse bore can be rapidly lowered.

The adjusting bolt has a cylindrical stud portion and a slide shoe supported thereon, and the slide shoe is secured against axial displacement by means of a head of the adjusting bolt.
