A device for introducing patterns by radiating a wound continuous substrate. The device provides patterning during continuous roll-to-roll movement without material slippage and with minimal distortion by providing a dancer roll between a processing drum and an unwinder roll on one side, and a winder roll on the other side, for tautly guiding the continuous substrate along a contact surface of at least half of the circumference of the processing drum in order to drive the continuous substrate without slippage. The dancer rolls are adapted to tautly guide the advancing substrate web and returning substrate web with a constant force, and an equilibrium is adjustable between a defined counterforce and the constant action of force on the dancer roll by a stabilization device, and is maintained constant by a controller based on measured deflections of the dancer roll by controlling the rotational speed of the unwinder and winder rolls.

Device for introducing a pattern by radiation on a wound endless structure

A movable table system comprising two identical tables on a common rail arrangement having a linear rail region underneath a detection unit and a processing unit, and therefore the tables can be alternatingly moved in a straight line along the common rail arrangement, in the same table-movement direction, fully underneath the detection unit and processing unit, and can be independently controlled by a computer unit. The movable table system provides a new option for processing planar workpieces, in which a particularly high throughput rate and improved precision can be achieved using merely one processing unit.

Apparatus for the exposure of plate-shaped workpieces with high throughput

A device for fixing different-sized base area objects with a vacuum including on a table: first, second, and third vacuum chambers. The third chamber extending the first and second chambers to the entire x direction extension, and the second chamber having parallel, line-forming grooves in the x direction and connected to each other by a first connection channel in the y direction and being released/closed serially relative to the first chamber by a line-switching device. The third chamber includes parallel, column-forming grooves extending in the y direction and connected to each other via a second connection channel in the x direction and being released/closed serially relative to the first chamber by a column-switching device. The third chamber being released/closed serially in the y direction by the line-switching device, in a simultaneous, segmented manner according to the number and positions of the line-forming grooves in correspondence with the second chamber.

Apparatus for fixing objects by means of vacuum

Apparatus for holding flat plates of varying sizes, including a base section having a flat surface and including plurality of interconnected channels formed on the surface thereof; at least one port connecting to the channels; a vacuum source connected to the at least one port; and an intermediate plate covering substantially all of the channels and having a multiplicity of holes formed therethrough, the holes being arranged to be covered by a flat plate that is to be held to the flat surface.

Scanner system

A method of scanning for writing a pattern on a surface, including providing a scanning beam comprised of a plurality of independently addressable sub-beams, scanning the surface with the scanning beam a plurality of times, the sub-beams scanning the surface side-by-side in the cross-scan direction, each sub-beam being modulated to reflect information to be written, and overlapping the beams in successive scans in the cross scan direction such that all written areas of the surface are written on during at least two scans.
