A belt deflector having a main element which is fastenable to a vehicle structure, and a belt contact element which is movable in relation to the main element and forms a belt contact face or belt contact edge for a seat belt that is to be deflected. The belt deflector has a deformable intermediate element which, during movement of the belt contact element relative to the main element in the direction of the intermediate element, is deformed and is pressed against the seat belt. The belt contact element forms a mating clamping face, and a belt strap portion of the seat belt is arranged between the intermediate element and the mating clamping face. During the relative movement, the intermediate element presses the belt strap portion onto the mating clamping face.

Belt deflector

An airbag for a motor vehicle is provided. The airbag includes two covering sections of an airbag covering facing each other, a discharge opening formed in one of the two covering sections for discharging gas, a connecting means for forming a releasable connection between the two covering sections, wherein upon inflation of the airbag the connection counters an escape of gas, and wherein upon inflation of the airbag the connecting means interacts with the airbag covering so that the connection is released and gas can escape out of the discharge opening. The two covering sections each form an airbag layer which are connected to each other for forming the airbag covering and which upon inflation of the airbag move away from each other. The airbag layers moving away from each other introduce a force into the connecting means so that the connections between the two covering sections are released.

Airbag for a motor vehicle

An airbag for a motor vehicle is provided The airbag comprising an airbag covering, two covering sections of the airbag covering facing each other, a discharge opening formed in one of the two covering sections for discharging gas out of the airbag, a connecting means for forming a releasable connection between the two covering sections, wherein upon inflation of the airbag the connection counters an escape of gas through the connecting means, and wherein upon inflation of the airbag the connecting means interacts with the airbag covering in such a manner that the connection is released and can escape out of the discharge opening. The two covering sections each form an airbag layer which are connected to each other for forming the airbag covering and which upon inflation of the airbag move away from each other. The airbag layers moving away from each other introduce a force into the connecting means such that the connections between the two covering sections is released.

A passenger safety device in which an airbag is disposed in the roof area of the vehicle, especially in the area of the roof rail of the vehicle, and in which the airbag of the airbag is stowed at least partially rolled up in the passenger safety device.

The invention relates to a method of manufacturing an airbag which consists of a plurality of airbag parts and has an airbag envelope. In the method at least one airbag part is provided at least regionally with a polyurethane coating through the heating of which the airbag part can be welded to a further airbag part.

The invention relates to an airbag apparatus for motor vehicles, in particular to a side airbag apparatus, comprising a gas generator (11), a gas filler tube (12) which is tightly connected thereto, which preferably is or can be laid in along the roof spar of the vehicle, which is provided with gas outflow openings (13) at predetermined distances and which is connected to an inflatable gas bag (14) which extends at least along a greater portion of its length and which preferably consists of individual cells (15), of which each is preferably associated with a gas outflow opening (13). The invention consists in that the gas outflow openings (13) are formed by incisions (17) in the wall of the gas filler tube (12) and by indentations (18) of the tube wall material at least at one side of the incisions (17).
