A method for the production of reinforced hollow sections with a continuous periphery. In order to provide in a simple manner, hollow sections with selective local reinforcement at points subject to high mechanical loads, an opening is formed in the periphery of the hollow section and a reinforcing plate is inserted into the opening, such that it at least projects into the hollow section. The reinforcing plate is then joined to the hollow section in the region of the edge of the opening.

Method for the production of reinforced hollow sections with a continuous periphery

A process for manufacturing holes on the circumference of a hollow section situated in an internal high pressure forming tool uses the action of a punch integrated in the forming tool. A desired breaking point is formed on the hollow section, which follows the edge contour of the operating face of the punch; and after the withdrawal of the punch, the hollow section material surrounded by the desired breaking area, acted upon by internal high pressure, is extracted from the hollow section from the inside to the outside, forming a hole. In order to produce holes on the circumference of hollow sections, in which the shape of the outer circumference of the hollow section is maintained, the wall of the hollow section is weakened to form an unstable thin area. The punch penetrates into the wall of the hollow section at an internal high pressure which corresponds to the forming pressure for forming a hollow blank inserted in the forming tool. When the punch is withdrawn, the internal high pressure, tears the hollow section material surrounded by the thin area out of the hollow section in the withdrawal direction of the punch.

A method and a device for producing leadthroughs on hollow profiles acted upon by a high fluidic pressure in an internal high-pressure forming tool. Dome-like secondary shaped elements are formed outwards in a radial direction from this hollow profile by the fluid pressurizing. The secondary shaped elements are then reverse drawn into the interior of the hollow profile by a punch while held at the prevailing internal high pressure, whereupon, to open the leadthrough, a punched slug is cut out of the base of the reverse-drawn secondary shaped element by the punch. To ensure the process reliability when producing the leadthrough even in the case of a hollow-profile material having low formability and to retain the strength of the hollow profile in the transition region to the leadthrough, in each case a secondary shaped element is formed out of the hollow profile at two opposite locations. After the forming, the secondary shaped elements are each reverse drawn into the hollow profile interior by a punch in such a way that the bases come to bear against one another inside the hollow profile in the final state of the reverse drawing. The punched slug is severed from the respective base by one punch plunging into the other punch.

Method and device for producing leadthroughs on hollow profiles

A method and a device for producing leadthroughs on a hollow profile useing a high fluidic pressure in an internal high-pressure forming tool. Dome-like secondary shaped elements are formed outwards in a radial direction from this hollow profile by the fluidic pressurizing. The secondary shaped elements are then reverse drawn into the interior of the hollow profile by punches at the prevailing internal high pressure. A punched slug is cut out of the base of the reverse-drawn secondary shaped element by the punch. A bent-in margin of the secondary shaped element lying next to the cutout is then straightened by the punch in a displacing movement directed further inwards by being pressed against a hollow-profile wall. To ensure the process reliability when producing the leadthrough even in the case of a hollow-profile material having low formability and to retain the strength of the hollow profile in the transition region to the leadthrough, it is provided in each case to form a secondary shaped element out of the hollow profile at two opposite locations, to reverse draw the secondary shaped elements after the forming, in each case into the hollow-profile interior by a punch in such a way that the bases are at a distance from one another in a final state of the reverse drawing, and to sever the punched slug from the respective base by interaction between the fluidic internal high pressure and an encircling cutting edge of the punch.

The invention relates to a process and apparatus for manufacturing hollow sections with cross-sectional expansions in end portions thereof. A hollow blank is widened and calibrated by internal high pressure forming by means of a forming tool receiving it, and, after the calibration, is separated in the area of the widening while forming two hollow sections with cross-sectionally widened ends facing one another in the separated position. In order manufacture from a hollow blank hollow sections with the lowest possible reject rate and therefore in a reliable process, which are cross-sectionally widened on the end side by means of high degree for forming, the blank is widened while the forming tool is open and is simultaneously upset to form a rotationally symmetrical bulging hollow section by means of a pressure force which is axially directed from the outside to at least one of the two blank ends.

Process and device for manufacturing hollow sections with end-side

A method and a device for producing holes in the circumference of a hollow shape, with a wall piece being separated as a slug from the hollow shape in an internal high-pressure mold and being jammed without projecting relative to the outer circumference of the hollow shape in a previously produced hole. In order to remove the slug produced during punching in simple fashion from the internal high-pressure mold, the separated slug is jammed at a fluid pressure that is reduced relative to an internal high fluid pressure without loss via a punch and can separate the slug following removal of the finished hollow shape from the internal high-pressure mold, from the hollow shape, finally clearing the hole.
