A monopolar electrosurgical instrument and electrosurgical system for treating biological tissue by a plasma. The instrument includes a tubular line for conducting a gas to the treatment location, wherein the line consists of electrically insulating material and has a distal opening for the exit of the gas in the direction of the tissue to be treated, and an electrode arranged in the region of the distal opening in the line, wherein the electrode is connectable to an electrosurgical generator to ignite a plasma discharge in the gas. Improving the ignition behavior, the inner surface of the line has an enhanced electrical conductivity in the distal opening. Furthermore, a method for producing an electrosurgical instrument for providing a line made of nonconductive material, an electrode, and enhancing the conductivity of an inner surface of the line in the region of the opening, for enhancing the conductivity in the line.

A high-frequency surgical appliance has a peak value detection and control unit, having a current or voltage sensor designed to detect the current strength or the voltage of a high-frequency alternating current output to the load. The control unit has a root-mean-square value former or is connected thereto, connected to the sensor and forms a root-mean-square value of a high-frequency alternating current detected by the sensor. The control unit deactivates the high-frequency generator when, in the steady state of the HF high-voltage circuit, a quantity of an instantaneous peak value of a signal representing an instantaneous value of the high-frequency alternating current detected during operation by the sensor exceeds a quantity of a value derived from the root-mean-square value of the high-frequency alternating current detected during operation by the sensor. The sensor continuously detects the instantaneous value of the current or voltage flowing during operation into the HF high-voltage circuit.

High-frequency surgical appliance

A high frequency surgical device for generating a high frequency voltage for cutting and/or vaporizing biological tissue within a flushing liquid, in particular a conductive flushing liquid, including two output contacts at which an electrosurgical instrument is connectable and between which the HF voltage is provided during operations; a parallel resonant circuit which is electrically connected with the output contacts and in which the HF voltage is generated during operations, and wherein the HF voltage is configured for igniting an electric arc within the flushing liquid at the electrosurgical instrument. The invention concerns a high frequency surgery apparatus for cutting and/or coagulating biological tissue and methods of operating same. The high frequency surgery apparatus includes at least one high frequency generator which in operation forms a high frequency circuit with the tissue to be treated, with the production of an arc, and at least one measuring and calculating device which is connected for signal transmission to the high frequency circuit and which is adapted in operation to ascertain both a DC voltage in the high frequency circuit and also the amplitudes of at least one even and at least one odd harmonic of a fundamental frequency of the high frequency generator and to form a first tissue parameter representative of the kind of tissue to be treated from the relationship of the sum of the amplitudes of the even and the odd harmonics to the DC voltage and to output a tissue signal dependent on the first tissue parameter for subsequent processing.

The invention relates to a combined ultrasound and HF surgical system, including at least one ultrasound generator which operatively provides an excitation signal through which an ultrasound converter can generate an ultrasound vibration, at least one HF generator which operatively generates HF energy, and at least one ultrasound and HF instrument electrically connected with the HF generator and the ultrasound generator, wherein the ultrasound vibrations and the HF energy are introducible into biological tissue through the HF instrument which includes at least one ultrasound converter and at least one HF electrode. The invention concerns a medical technology device for treatment of the human or animal body, comprising at least one electrical plug connector which is adapted to be connected to a complementary counterpart plug connector of a further medical technology device and which in an active position is arranged projecting upwardly at the top side of the device. To provide a medical technology device which can be used both as an individual device and also in conjunction with a second device as a device arrangement and which in that respect satisfies existing safety and aesthetic demands, it is provided in accordance with the invention that the plug connector is adapted to be movable from the active position into a passive position, wherein in the passive position the plug connector is removed from the top side of the device and the top side is closed in substantially fluid-tight relationship.

An optical device assembly includes an optical device. The optical device has an optical fiber led from the device with an anti-kink protector, and also a transmitting and/or receiving module having such an optical device. The anti-kink protector is made of a material and/or the anti-kink protector is sheathed with a material that is electrically conductive or highly absorbent to electromagnetic waves. The transmitting and/or receiving module is constructed in such a way that the anti-kink protector is disposed in the area of an opening of the module housing and at the same time is coupled electrically to the module housing. The electrical coupling of the electrically conductive anti-kink protector to the module housing results in a considerable reduction in the interference radiation that emerges.

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for lining a pipe through a sealing internal lining by using a flexible tube including adhesive, which is introduced into said pipe in turning inside out manner and is kept dimensionally stable until the adhesive is cured. To reduce the frictional force during the introducing operation a strip additive is deposited onto the outside of the flexible tube prior to the turning up operation. A strip additive having a gel-like consistence is used to minimize the frictional force. For a uniformly wetting the flexible tube with the strip additive, this is transferred into a liquid condition by heating prior to depositing. After depositing, it quickly cools down to the ambient temperature such that the required gel-like consistence is ensured for the introducing operation. Thereby it is possible to line pipes or ducts comprising several pipe bends an angles within the line course.
