A procedure for controlling actuators within an on-board power system, which provides different operating voltages and temporal on-board power voltage changes. The actuator or actuators are controlled with different pulse-width modulated control signals, whereby the pulse-width and the cycle duration of the control signals can be adjusted independent of each other and are adjusted independent of the actually applied on-board power voltage. Control signals for the actuators can be specified by a control unit. The actuator or actuators can be controlled with the aid of the control unit by different pulse-width modulated control signals, whereby the pulse-width and the cycle duration of the control signals can be adjusted independent of each other; and the control unit provides devices for detecting the actually applied on-board power voltage and driver units.

Procedure and device for controlling actuators

A method and a device for storing a computer program in a program memory of a control unit. The computer program is stored according to predefinable rules in specific memory areas of the program memory. To recognize an erroneous jump into an unused memory area of the program memory, in which the computer program is not stored, as rapidly as possible and to prevent the control unit from being in an irregular state, selectable information, through which the control unit is transferred into a defined state, is stored in the unused memory areas of the program memory, in which the computer program is not stored.

Method and device for storing a computer program in a program memory of a control unit

A method for monitoring the functioning of a control unit for the activation of output stages, for example, in a motor vehicle, is provided. The control unit includes a main computing element having at least one microprocessor, and at least one auxiliary computing element having at least one microprocessor. The main computing element and the at least one auxiliary computing element may access a common memory element. The present system enables monitoring of the control unit that is as simple as possible but is nonetheless secure and reliable, by providing that during normal operation of the control unit, the content of a specifiable memory location of the memory element be queried by at least one of the auxiliary computing elements at presettable times, given a functioning main computing element, the content having previously been written with a presettable value by the same.
