A pyromechanical disconnecting device that includes a housing having a receiving space for an ignition element and a supporting floor. A disconnecting tool is disposed in the housing and movable along a path toward a disconnecting point of a current conductor rail. Also disposed in the housing is an ignition element adapted to propel the disconnecting tool along the path to sever the current conductor rail. The ignition element includes an end having a conical flank facing the supporting floor of the housing. An elastic sealing element is arranged about the conical flank and the supporting floor to act as an axial tolerance compensator between the ignition element and the supporting floor of the housing.

Apparatus for the cutting of an electrical conductor

A pyromechanical disconnecting device having an improved electric current conductor rail. The electric current conductor rail includes a center section perpendicular to the path of a disconnecting tool, and a first and second side section extending perpendicular from the center section. The electric current conductor rail further includes a first and second end piece connected respectively to the first and second side sections apart from the center section. Each of the end pieces is connected along a fold perpendicular to the center section and includes a bore for receiving a fastener to attach the electric current conductor rail to a housing.

Pyromechanical separating device with a specially shaped current conductor rail

The invention relates to a device for pyromechanical separation comprising a housing () and a conducting rail () which is arranged therein and embodied in such a way that it is separable at a separation point () by a separating tool () which is actuated by a propulsion pyrotechnical charge (). In order to protect said conducting rail against manipulations and ensure an unequivocal positioning, the conducting rail (), the propulsion charge () and the separating tool () are fixed in the housing () in an irremovable manner by a latch () which is inserted into the housing () and are nondetachably fixed thereto. Said latch () is also used as a support for the separating tool (), i.e. it comprises a cutting edge () along which said separating tool () cuts.

Housing and a conducting rail for disconnecting a battery

A pyromechanical cutting element has a housing () in which an electrical conductor () is arranged, a cutting plunger () with a cutting tool () to cut through the electrical conductor (), and pyrotechnic charge () to drive the cutting plunger (), with the cutting tool () bending over the electrical conductor () after cutting through it and forming a bending tongue () that sticks out from the conductor () in a way that interrupts the conductor (). The electrical conductor () has a cross-sectional area reduction in the longitudinal direction () consisting of two transverse sides and two longitudinal sides. The cutting tool () first cuts through the cross-sectional area reduction () just on one transverse side and upon further advancement bends over the longitudinal sides at least in part, and, upon further advancement, the cutting tool () clamps the bending tongue () thus created.

Pyromechanical cutting element

The invention relates to a pyromechanical separating element having a hermetically sealed pyrotechnic pressure element (), which is installed in a housing () and has a gas-forming pyrotechnic charge, and a detachable latching pin () which is separated from the pressure element () by a driving volume () and is inserted into the housing (), wherein a first securing point is arranged on the housing () and a second securing point is arranged on the latching pin (), and the latching pin () is anchored on the housing () by way of an arresting and force-limiting element ().

Pyromechanical separating element

A pyrotechnic cutting device has a guiding housing in which there is arranged a part to be severed, which is fashioned so as to be severable at a cut point by a cutting tool having a cutting chisel. A pressure pulse generator containing a pyrotechnic driving charge is arranged in the cutting device for generating a pressure pulse to drive the cutting tool. In the guiding housing there is arranged, between the pressure pulse generator and the cutting tool, an impact capsule that can be accelerated by the pressure pulse of the triggered pressure pulse generator toward an inner thrust base of the cutting tool on the end of the cutting tool opposite to the cutting chisel. The cutting tool has its cutting chisel abutting the cut point before the impact capsule strikes the thrust base.

Pyrotechnically driven device for cutting solid, compact materials

The invention relates to a pyrotechnic detonator with an igniter support of plastic, which bears an ignition element. A cylindrical metal housing is fastened to the igniter support, into which the ignition reaches. A booster charge is arranged in the metal housing. To improve seal tightness and lower the manufacturing costs, for mechanical support a metal insert is integrated into the igniter support, the metal insert being encased by the plastic of the igniter support.
