A method for providing operationally safe activation of at least one electronic component in a system, a start process of the system being initiated, a decision logic being activated, at least one temperature sensor being read out by the decision logic, the decision logic, based on the measured temperature of the at least one temperature sensor, checking whether the at least one electronic component is activatable in an operationally safe manner, and an activation of the at least one electronic component being initiated by the decision logic, if the temperature measured by the at least one temperature sensor is below a threshold value. A related system is also described.

A method for monitoring an image sensor, the image sensor having a communication interface for communicating with an external monitoring unit. In the method, a request signal generated by the monitoring unit is read in via the communication interface, a test pattern generated by the image sensor is modified using the request signal, and the modified test pattern is output to the communication interface, in order to have the modified test pattern evaluated by the monitoring unit.

A method for operating a data processing unit of a driver assistance system, the unit including main and slave computers. The main computer ascertains surroundings data from a surroundings detection system by using a processing specification. The slave computer operates a communication interface of the data processing unit, using a communication instruction. In initializing, the main computer, in response to a signal, is initialized by performing an initialization instruction on the main computer. In a method for testing an image sensor having (i) regular pixels and test pixels, of which each is interconnected with one of two predefined voltage values, and (ii) a signal processing unit for providing digital signal values for output voltages of the pixels and test pixels, the following steps are performed: receiving digital signal values of the test pixels; and using the signal values of at least one proper or improper subset of the test pixels for testing the image sensor, all test pixels of the subset being interconnected with a first of the two voltage values. Using the test pixels for testing allows testing during ongoing operation, i.e., during reception of regular image signals.

The present invention relates to a method and a device for transforming an object image, e.g., using a rotation and/or scaling, for showing it on a display unit having a matrix-shaped array of target image points. In order to achieve a rapid and exact representation of the rotated object at relatively low expenditure, the present invention provides, for at least a portion of the target image points, determining source image points by an inverse transformation, and comparing the source image points to pre-stored object image points. From this comparison, the target image point data of the target image points are ascertained. Furthermore, a suitable image of such a transformation is created.
