A machine arrangement sequentially processes sheet-like substrates with multiple different processing stations each having a substrate-guiding unit and a substrate-processing unit. At least one of the processing stations has, as a substrate-processing unit, at least one non-impact printing device which prints on the substrate. The processing station with the at least one non-impact printing device has a printing cylinder. Each non-impact printing device is arranged at the circumference of the printing cylinder. The printing cylinder is triple-sized or quadruple-sized. A double-sized or a triple-sized transfer drum, or a corresponding feed cylinder, is arranged directly upstream of this printing cylinder. Alternatively, a double-sized or a triple-sized transfer drum, or a corresponding transfer cylinder, is arranged directly downstream of this printing cylinder.

A machine arrangement, for sequentially processing sheet-type substrates, includes a plurality of different processing stations, one of which includes a non-impact printing device that prints the substrates. The processing station, including the non-impact printing device, also includes a printing cylinder, on the circumference of which, the non-impact printing device that prints the substrates is arranged. On the circumferential surface of the printing cylinder, four substrates are or can be placed behind each other in the circumferential direction. Each of the substrates that are to be conveyed are retained in one of a force-locking and a form-fitting manner on the circumferential surface of the printing cylinder by at least one retaining element.

A turning device in a sheet-processing machine includes a sheet-guiding drum. The sheet-guiding drum has at least one gripper system for securing a front edge of a sheet. The sheet-guiding drum also has at least three casing segments cooperating in the circumferential direction and engaging with one another during format adjustment. A method for the format adjustment of a sheet-guiding drum is also disclosed. The object of the invention is to further improve the sheet guiding on format-adjustable sheet-guiding drums in sheet-processing machines. This is achieved in that a middle casing segment in the circumferential direction has a drive.

Sheet-processing machine comprising a turning device with a sheet-guiding drum, and method for adjusting the format of a sheet-guiding drum

A sheet-guiding drum in a sheet-processing machine, comprises a gripper system, a gripper shaft, and a gripper tube. A method for producing a gripper system is also disclosed. The sheet-guiding drum further improves the sheet transport process, in particular the turning process, in sheet-processing machines. The problem addressed by the invention is in particular the provision of a low-wear rolling-element bearing that preferably eliminates the aforementioned disadvantages and, in particular, meets all further boundary conditions. This problem is solved in that the gripper tube is assembled from tube segments.

A method for supplying printing ink to an ink tray of a printing press having a plurality of ink zones throughout the width of the printing to be done, an ink tray and an ink ball extending over the width and having a longitudinal axis along the printing to be done and being substantially coextensive with the ink tray, an ink supplying means at an ink supplying location, and an ink spatula for distribution of ink within the ink tray, the method comprising determining the ink requirement data for the various ink zones, inputting the ink requirement data into a computer for producing a plurality of control signals for regulating the supplied ink in supply cycles to the ink zones, supplying ink to each ink zone at the location of each ink zone, shifting the supplied ink by the ink spatula to a zone in need of ink, with priority being given during the supply cycle to the ink requiring ink zone that is most remote from the ink supplying location, the amount of ink being supplied during the supply cycle being sufficient to prevent the amount of ink from falling to below a predetermined minimum ink level in each ink zone.
