An anesthetic dispensing device includes a first gas branch carrying breathing gas through an anesthetic evaporator to a mixer unit. A second gas branch carries breathing gas to the mixer unit. A proportional valve in the second gas branch receives a valve control signal to set a valve opening. A control unit determines a first gas branch flow and a second gas branch flow and a desired chamber pressure of an evaporator chamber of the anesthetic evaporator based on a predefined desired concentration and the branch flows. The control unit determines a desired valve opening of the proportional valve as a function of the desired chamber pressure and to output this as a valve control signal. The desired valve opening is determined such that the desired chamber pressure within the anesthetic dispensing device is reached in the first gas branch due to the desired valve opening.

Anesthetic dispensing device and process for setting an anesthetic concentration

A method and device, for enriching a gas flow with an anesthetic, include a gas mixer (), with gas inlets () and one or more gas outlets (), and an anesthetic dispenser () connected to the one or more gas outlets. The anesthetic dispenser at least partially enriches the gas flow to provide a breathing gas flow enriched with anesthetic at a patient connector (). A control valve () is arranged fluidically in series with the anesthetic dispenser (). The gas outlet is connected to the patient connector () via a gas channel (), arranged fluidically parallel to the anesthetic dispenser () and in which at least another control valve () is arranged. A control unit () actuates at least one control valve as a function of a desired value for an anesthetic concentration in the breathing gas flow to change anesthetic concentration at the patient connector ().

Device for providing a breathing gas flow enriched with anesthetic

An anesthetic dispensing device (), to which a carrier gas stream is fed for enriching with anesthetic, has the gas stream split into two partial gas streams, one of which flows through a bypass channel () unchanged and the other of which is fed to an evaporation chamber (), where the partial gas stream is saturated with anesthetic. In a mixing point (), both partial gas streams are mixed to form an anesthetic gas stream, which leaves the anesthetic dispensing device through the anesthetic gas outlet (). A control unit () is provided that is configured to generate a control signal for an electric motor drive () for adjusting the valve opening of the valve element () on the basis of a concentration of the anesthetic in the anesthetic gas needed at the anesthetic gas outlet () and at least one temperature-specific correction factor.

Anesthetic dispensing device

A device for metering anesthetic is provided such that a new anesthetic is immediately available for the metering when the anesthetic is changed. The metering device has an assembly unit that can be removed from the medical apparatus as a module with a reservoir () for a liquid anesthetic, an intermediate container () arranged downstream of the reservoir (), a metering gas source () connected to the intermediate container () and a metering element () for anesthetic on the discharge side of the intermediate container (). An evaporator chamber () may be provided for evaporating the metered anesthetic. A connecting device lets through at least anesthetic vapor as an interface between the assembly unit () and the medical apparatus ().
