A texturing machine is described which consists of a plurality of processing-points for thermoplastic threads. A feed bobbin, a first delivery mechanism, an elongated first heating device, an elongated cooling device, a false-twist unit, a second delivery mechanism and also a winding-up device are arranged at each processing-point. In this connection several feed bobbins are arranged above one another in a creel frame, and several winding-up devices are arranged above one another in a winding frame. The first delivery mechanism, the heater and the cooling device are located above the frames. In order to guarantee a careful course of the thread as well as operability, the first delivery mechanism is arranged together with a drive in an operational position directly upstream of the inlet of the first heating device. In this connection it is possible, with a view to piecing a thread, for the first delivery mechanism with or without the drive to be adjusted in its location into an operating position below the operational position in such a way that the delivery mechanism is not capable of being driven in the operating position.

Texturing machine

A godet for advancing, guiding, and heating an advancing synthetic filament yarn, which includes a rotating godet casing, which is cup shaped and is mounted over a stationary, tubular support. In the space formed between the godet casing and the support, a radiation heater is arranged on the circumference of the support, and the radiation heater is formed by a heating coil which is wound about the support with a plurality of windings. The coil has over its length different spacings between adjacent windings to provide non-uniform heating along the length of the casing and thereby compensate for the non-uniform cooling of the casing which naturally occurs.

A godet for guiding and advancing a yarn with a rotating godet jacket. The godet jacket is mounted to a rotor shaft, which is driven by means of a three-phase motor. The three-phase motor is controlled via a frequency inverter, which is mounted in a housing, whose interior accommodates the electronic subassemblies of the frequency inverter in a stationary and heat transferring manner. The housing of the frequency inverter is firmly connected to the housing of the three-phase motor.

Godet for guiding and advancing a yarn

A yarn winding apparatus for winding each of a plurality of continuously advancing yarns to a package. The packages are wound on a winding spindle rotatably mounted in cantilever fashion on a movable spindle support. A stationary holding device is provided which is adapted for engaging the free end of the winding spindle without impeding the rotation of the winding spindle, so as to support the winding spindle at its free end with a holding force during the winding of the packages. Also, the winding spindle and the holding device can be joined to each other by two coupling elements without impeding the movement of the winding spindle which occurs during the winding operation to accommodate the build of the package.

Method for controlling a crosswinding device

An apparatus for heating an advancing yarn is disclosed, which comprises an elongate heater body having a U-shaped channel accommodating a plurality of yarn guides. The yarn guides are configured and positioned such that the yarn advancing through the heating apparatus is deflected along a non-linear path of travel which includes several straight line segments which are closely adjacent and parallel to each of the side walls of the channel. The non-linear path effectively increases the yarn length in the heating apparatus, thereby facilitating high speed operation, and without unduly increasing the frictional resistance of the apparatus on the yarn.

Apparatus for heating an advancing yarn

A godet for heating an advancing yarn including a rotatably mounted godet casing of magnetically conductive material, a stationary primary winding, and a power supply for powering the primary winding at least about 300 Hz. The godet casing is formed of iron and acts as both the secondary winding and core for the primary winding. Accordingly, the godet casing does not need a separate and defined secondary winding, nor does the godet casing include a copper insert or copper coating on the interior of the casing.

Godet for heating an advancing yarn

An apparatus for driving a plurality of motors at different variable speeds. The apparatus includes a rectifier for supplying direct current power to a dc bus circuit. A plurality of inverters are connected to the dc bus circuit and each inverter drives a respective motor. Each inverter is controlled by an individual controller connected thereto for controlling the frequency of the output of the inverter to thereby control the speed of the associated motor. The inverters are preferably mounted on a common heat sink to reduce electrical and mechanical complexity. The apparatus permits the rectifier and the dc bus circuit to be sized to handle a maximum rating of less than the sum total of maximum loads of each of the motors. The dc bus circuit also serves to distribute energy generated by a slowing motor, for example, to other motors driven from the bus circuit. A chopper resistor may be included and switched across the dc bus circuit to provide braking to the motors.
