The invention proposes a bone plate comprising a bottom side that is to rest against the bone and an upper side opposite to the bone as well as a plurality of holes located along the longitudinal axis of the plate, through which bone screws can be inserted to be anchored to a bone. At least one of these holes is a continuous oblong hole comprising a longitudinal axis running in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the plate. A retaining structure, is provided in a partial area of the lateral side of the oblong hole for engaging the threads of said bone screw to archive an angle-stable fixation of said bone screw in said oblong hole.

Bone plate

A bone plate comprising a bottom side that is to rest against the bone, an upper side, and a plurality of holes along the longitudinal axis of the plate through which bone screws can be inserted to be anchored to a bone. At least one hole is a continuous oblong hole comprising a longitudinal axis running in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the plate. Thread flights are provided in a partial area of the lateral side of the oblong hole that when in a direction transversal to the plane of the upper side, are arranged only over a part of the depth of the oblong hole. In the direction transversal to the plane of the upper side, a support structure with smooth walls for the positive fit with a correspondingly configured negative structure at a screw head or screw neck of a bone screw is provided.

An improved system for converting kinetic energy contained in naturally occurring horizontal flows occurring in fluids accumulated above ground into useful mechanical energy is specified in which at least one circulating element guided in a closed cycle, arranged substantially horizontal above the ground is provided, to which at least one buoyancy body having a crosssection of impact for the flow is attached by means of at least one guy rope or by means of a backstay chain, wherein in a section of the closed cycle, in which a propulsive power aligned in a direction of circulation acts on the buoyancy body via the flow impacting on the cross-section of impact, the distance between the circulating element and the buoyancy body is set greater than in a section of the closed cycle, in which via the flow impacting on the cross-section of impact no propulsive power aligned in the direction of circulation acts on the buoyancy body, further optimizing is carried out in that the buoyancy body is set during the cycle in its alignment to the flow such that with a flow acting transversely to the temporary direction of circulation of the circulating element it also experiences a force component acting in the direction of circulation and transfers to the circulating element via the at least one guy rope.

Method and system for converting kinetic energy contained in horizontal flows into useful mechanical energy

A method for converting kinetic energy in horizontal currents of naturally occurring fluids above ground into mechanical energy. A circulating element is guided in a closed cycle and is arranged substantially in a plane parallel to the ground. The circulating element has two lengthwise adjustable traction ropes/chains fastened in two opposite positions. The ropes/chains have buoyancy elements at their free ends. The buoyancy elements have cross-sections for the current to impact. In an embodiment, a traction rope/chain fixed to a section of the circulating element facing the horizontal current is adjusted to be longer than the traction rope/chain fixed to a section of the circulating element facing away from horizontal current. The lengths of the two traction ropes/chains in the region of the points of return of the circulating element are reversed upon which the course of the circulating element relative to the horizontal current is reversed, when seen in the direction of circulation of the circulating element.

Intramedullary osteosynthesis nail for healing fractures or bone elongation

A marrow nail engagable with a plurality of screws for securing the nail in a bone of a patient. The marrow nail includes a plurality of recesses defined proximate one end of an elongated rod. Each of the plural recesses is formed as a notch and is operably engagable with a respective one of the plural screws. A holding arrangement is disposed at the other end of the marrow nail rod and is implemented as a threaded assembly for facilitating movement of the marrow nail in the patient.

Marrow nail

A prosthesis includes an elongated shaft terminating in a proximal end and a distal end. The shaft has a center axis and an outer surface provided with grooves having side walls forming an essentially wedge-shaped cross section terminating in a bottom edge line. The grooves extend substantially longitudinally on the outer surface from the proximal end to the distal end in a substantially uniform density. The bottom edge lines are oriented toward the center axis, whereby a separate imaginary plane longitudinally dividing each groove contains both the center axis and the respective bottom edge line. The number of grooves in an imaginary angular sector, having a vertex line coinciding with the center axis, increases with increasing distance of the outer surface from the center axis. The proximal end has an enlarged surface region and the grooves extend from the distal end upward toward the enlarged surface region. In the enlarged surface region at least some of the grooves form branches to retain a substantially uniform groove density throughout the enlarged surface region.

Device for compression screwing fractures of the femural neck, consisting of a plate of a sleeve, the sleeve being hollow and cylindrical in shape, the plate of the sleeve being attached by screws to the femur shaft and of a bone screw being located within the sleeve which is provided with a female thread on its head side into which a compression screw having a respective male thread fits, whereby the compression screw is supported by means of the bottom edge of its head or by a respective, especially conical contact surface for the limitation of its movement against a fixing ring being located within the sleeve in such a way that it can be displaced, sliding with its surface along the inner surface of the sleeve and having a conical surface in an axial direction that is adapted to the bottom edge of the head of the compression screw and the cone angle of which is sized in such a way that the adhesive friction between the outer surface of the fixing ring and the inner surface of the sleeve is greater than the compressional force acting in the longitudinal direction of the screw.

A pin is provided which is displaceable in the longitudinal bore and, beginning at the front face of the cone, extends into the transversely oriented opening.
