In a method for operating a magnetic resonance (MR) facility during recording of MR data by using a MR sequence including a saturation module for a spin type to be saturated, in which a high-frequency saturation pulse is emitted between first and second spoiler gradient pulses, and multiple further gradient pulses apart from the spoiler gradient pulses, eddy current data is determined. The eddy current data describes eddy currents existing during emission of the saturation pulse and resulting from the further gradient pulses. Further, a pulse parameter of the first spoiler gradient pulse is selected based on the eddy current data such that the eddy currents generated by the first spoiler gradient pulse compensate for at least part of the eddy currents described by the eddy current data during emission of the saturation pulse. The facility is controlled to emit the first spoiler gradient pulse with the selected pulse parameter.

In a method and magnetic resonance for calibrating a control sequence for the apparatus, having a first radio-frequency pulse and a second radio-frequency pulse, for a magnetic resonance examination of an examination region of an object, a first reference value for the first radio-frequency pulse for resonant excitation of a first substance is determined, and a second reference value for the second radio-frequency pulse for resonant excitation of a second substance is determined. The determination of the first reference value includes a selective excitation of the first substance and/or the determination of the second reference value includes a selective excitation of the second substance. The MR control sequence is calibrated by assignment, in a processor, of the first reference value to the first radio-frequency pulse and assignment of the second reference value to the second radio-frequency pulse.

Method and magnetic resonance apparatus for calibrating a control sequence for examination of an object

In a method and apparatus for acquiring magnetic resonance (MR) data, MR signals are acquired simultaneously from S slices, of a total of N slices of a subject, with S being an SMS factor. The N slices are respectively at different positions from an isocenter of the data acquisition scanner, thereby causing said MR signals to be affected differently by Maxwell terms of magnetic fields that give said MR signals respective signal dephasings that are dependent on the distance of a respective slice from the isocenter. The SMS MR data acquisition sequence is executed with a spacing between each pair of adjacent slices being less than N/S. Maxwell correction gradient moments are calculated at an average position between the S slices, thereby generating corrected k-space data wherein the signal dephasing of the MR signals from the S slices is reduced.

Method and magnetic resonance apparatus for maxwell compensation in simultaneous multislice data acquisitions

In a method and apparatus for optimizing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of a magnetic resonance (MR) dataset acquired by means of a magnetic resonance system having at least one transmit coil, a measurement protocol for an acquisition that is to be performed in order to obtain the MR dataset of a predefined measurement volume. A deviation of an actual flip angle from the predefined flip angle in a specific area of the predefined measurement volume is determined for a preset transmitter scaling. The transmitter scaling of the RF pulse is adjusted in order to correct the actual flip angle so that the actual flip angle is approximated to the predefined flip angle in the specific area. The MR dataset is acquired with the adjusted transmitter scaling.

Method and imaging apparatus for optimizing a signal-to-noise ratio of a magnetic resonance image

In a magnetic resonance (MR) imaging apparatus and control method therefor, multiple frequency spectra of a material of the examination object are detected using at least one radio-frequency coil of and MR scanner, the coil having a number of coil elements and at least two of the frequency spectra are detected individually detected by respective, different coil elements. A number of resonant frequencies of at least one molecule in the material are established in the number of frequency spectra. Control information is formulated based on the number of resonant frequencies. The magnetic resonance scanner is controlled using the control information.

In a method and apparatus for acquiring magnetic resonance (MR) data from a subject, wherein the MR data are acquired in respective data sets individually from multiple slices in a stack within the examination subject, and wherein the number of slices in the stack is not an integer multiple of a number of slices that are desired to be scanned simultaneously, a quotient of the number of slices in the stack and the number of slices to be acquired simultaneously is formed. A protocol for operating the scanner of the apparatus is then determined wherein the number of simultaneously scanned slices is set either by rounding by quotient up to the next highest integer, or rounding the quotient down to the next lowest integer.

Magnetic resonance apparatus and method for simultaneous multi-slice imaging with arbitrary slice numbers

In a method and magnetic resonance (MR) apparatus for acquiring MR signals of an examination object, an excitation pulse is radiated while a first gradient switching operation is activated, a refocusing pulse is radiated, a second gradient switching operation is activated with the second gradient switching operation having an opposite polarity to the first gradient switching operation. At least one of the first gradient switching operation and the second gradient switching operation has an amplitude modulation during radiation of the excitation pulse or the refocusing pulse. MR signals are acquired from nuclear spins in a body of the examination object that were excited by the excitation pulse and refocused by the refocusing pulse.

Method and apparatus for acquiring magnetic resonance signals of an examination object

In a method and apparatus for magnetic resonance imaging of an examination object, a control computer is provided with a designation of a first recording region, which is cuboidal. The computer automatically determines a second recording region that represents an adjustment of the first recording region such that the second recording region is cube-shaped. Magnetic resonance scan data are acquired from the entire second recording region. Magnetic resonance image data are reconstructed from the acquired magnetic resonance scan data. An image region of the magnetic resonance image data is supplied in electronic form from the computer.
