Systems, apparatuses, and methods for modifying metadata associated with database objects obtained from providers, such as cloud providers, are disclosed. Modifying metadata associated with database objects obtained from cloud providers may include identifying resources in a computer network that originate from providers, such as cloud providers that do not have associated metadata. A user interface that includes the resources may be generated, and the resource may receive input to select the resources and a descriptor that may be associated with the resources. The selected resources may then be associated, in a configuration management dataset, with metadata derived from the selected descriptor. The metadata may indicate an association of the selected resources to a parameter.

System and method of associating metadata with computing resources across multiple providers

A computational instance of a remote network management platform may be dedicated to a managed network. The managed network may use computing resources of a cloud-based service provider. One or more processors may be disposed within the computational instance and may cause a provider-neutral cloud discovery software application to: (i) obtain a specification that defines an interface for accessing the cloud-based service provider, a discoverable set of computing resources provided by the cloud-based service provider, and mappings between descriptions of the discoverable set of computing resources and the database tables disposed within the computational instance, (ii) log on to the cloud-based service provider by way of the interface, (iii) request and receive, from the cloud-based service provider, descriptions of the discoverable set of computing resources, and (iv) store, in fields of database tables, the descriptions of the discoverable set of computing resources in accordance with the mappings.

One or more server devices may be disposed within the computational instance and may cause a cloud service catalog software application to: (i) obtain a selection of a catalog item, where the catalog item defines prospective computing resources that provide a computing function, and where the selection includes a set of variables that associate the prospective computing resources with the one or more remote networks and determine configuration details for the prospective computing resources, (ii) populate a template representation with the variables, (iii) transmit the template representation to a server configured to identify target computing resources of the one or more remote networks and provision the target computing resources, and (iv) receive identification information related to the target computing resources.

A communication network includes a wireless network, a location platform, and a network component. The wireless network includes a base station to send data to and receive data from a mobile station via radio frequency communication signals. The location platform is operably coupled to the wireless network. In one embodiment, the location platform computes a velocity of the mobile station in response to a velocity request. The network component is operably coupled between the wireless network and the location platform. In one embodiment, the network component compares the computed velocity of the mobile station with a velocity threshold in response to an attempted communication involving the mobile station. The network component also implements a restrictive action for the attempted communication involving the mobile station in response to a determination that the computed velocity exceeds the velocity threshold.
