The present invention relates to optical glasses, in particular special short flint glasses (KZFS) and optical elements and components, which comprise these glasses, and use thereof and a method for producing such optical glasses. The optical glasses of the present invention are characterized by a pronounced short flint character and additionally by an excellent transmission and chemical resistance and workability. At that, the glasses of the invention can stand out due to lower costs of production caused by lower costs of raw materials and lower processing costs, due to their crystallization properties that can be handled also in smaller melting aggregates, and due to good environmental compatibility.

Optical glass having negative anomalous partial dispersion / special short flint glasses

Thin glasses having high refractive index (n), a layer composite assembly made from these thin glasses, a method for the production of the thin glasses, and the uses of the thin glasses are provided. The thin glasses are processed in an in line manufacturing process and have the optical properties of a classical optical glass. The thin glasses are highly transparent, crystallization-resistant, chemically resistant and highly refractive. The viscosity/temperature behavior of the thin glasses is adjusted to the manufacturing process via in line flat glass methods.

A glass wafer is provided that is made of a copper ions containing phosphate or fluorophosphate glass. The glass wafer has a diameter greater than 15 centimeters and a thickness of less than 0.4 millimeters. The glass wafer has two plane-parallel surfaces at least one of which is polished.

Infrared absorbing glass wafer and method for producing same

A highly refractive and highly transparent optical glass is provided. The use of such a glass, optical elements and processes for producing the glass or the optical elements are also provided.

Optical glass

Glass having an optimized degree of cross-linking of the phosphate component in the glass matrix is provided so that excellent weatherability is achieved. These glasses are fluorophosphate glasses that contain copper oxide as coloring component. The glasses can further contain coloring components and are obtainable in a method that includes a bubbling step.

Fluorophosphate glasses

The optical glass has a refractive index nof 1.945&#x2266;n&#x2266;1.97, an Abbe number &#x3bd;of 33&#x2266;&#x3bd;&#x2266;36, and a composition with the following components in amounts expressed in % of their cations, with respect to the total number of cations in the composition: B, 35-46; La, 25-35; Ta, 6-14; W, 6-13; Zr, 1-7; Gd, 0-5; Nb, 0-4; Y, 0-4; Ba, 0-2; &#x3a3; alkaline earth metal cations, 0-2, &#x3a3; La+Ta+W+Zr+Gd+Nb+Y&#x2267;50; and at least one fining agent, 0-0.3. Also a ratio of Bto Lais 1.1 to 1.6 and a ratio of Bto &#x3a3; Si+Bis &#x2267;0.5. The glass is free of lead, arsenic, Ti, Th, Zn, F, and Hf.

Highly refractive and highly transparent optical glass

The lead-free and arsenic-free optical glasses have a refractive index of 1.83&#x2266;n&#x2266;1.95 and an Abb&#xe9; number of 24&#x2266;&#x3bd;&#x2266;35, good chemical resistance, excellent crystallization stability and a composition, in wt. % based on oxide content, of SiO, 2-8; BO, 15-22; LaO, 35-42; ZnO, 10-18; TiO, 9-15; ZrO, 3-10; NbO, 4-10; and WO, &#x3e;0.5-3. Besides containing at most 5 wt. % of each of GeO, AgO and BaO and conventional fining agents, they may also contain at most in total 5 wt. % of AlO, MgO, CaO, SrO, POand up to at most in total 5 wt. % of the components F, TaO. The glasses are preferably free of alkali metal oxides, BiO, YO, GdOand/or YbO. Optical elements made from the optical glass are also described.

Optical glass, optical elements made therefrom, method of making the optical elements from the glass, and optical components comprising one or more optical elements

The lead- and arsenic-free optical glass has a refractive index nd of 1.55&#x2266;nd&#x2266;1.64, an Abbe number &#x3bd;d of 42&#x2266;&#x3bd;d&#x2266;65, and a low transition temperature Tg&#x2266;460&#xb0; C., good producibility and processability, and crystallization stability. The optical glass has a composition within the following range, in wt. % based on oxide content: The glass may also have a total content of SiO, BOand AlOthat is less than 9 wt. %. The glass may contain MgO, SrO, CaO and BaO, but the sum of these oxides is preferably at least 2 wt. % and at most 12 wt. %. The glass may contain at most 5 wt. % of each of LaO, TiO, NbO, at most 2 wt. % TaOand less than 1 wt. % fluorine.

Optical glass, method of making the optical glass, optical elements made with the optical glass and uses thereof

The lead-free and fluorine-free optical glass has a refractive index of 1.60&#x2266;n&#x2266;1.64 and an Abbe number of from 56&#x2266;v&#x2266;64, a transformation temperature less than or equal to 590&#xb0; C., can be precise pressed and is stable to cystallization. The glass has the following, composition (in weight-% based on oxide content. PO, 26-35; BO, 10-15; AlO, 5.5-10; BaO, 25-37; SrO, 0-6; CaO, 8-15; ZnO, 3-10; BiO, 0-8; NaO, 0-2; KO, 0-2; WO, 0-10; LaO, 0-2; NbO, 0-1; TiO,0-&#x3c;1; &#x3a3; alkaline earth metal oxides &#x2267;40; &#x3a3; alkali metal oxides, 0-2 and at least one fining agent, 0-0.5.

Fluorine-free optical glass

The optical glasses designated to be used in the areas of imaging, sensors, microscopy, medical technology, digital projection, photolithography, laser technology, wafer/chip technology as well as telecommunications, optical communications engineering and optics/illumination in the automotive sector with a refractive index nd of 1.60&#x2266;nd&#x2266;1.72 and/or an Abbe number vd of 32&#x2266;vd&#x2266;45 and with a Tg of 567&#xb0; C. to 640&#xb0; C., pronounced short flint character, good chemical resistance, excellent resistance to crystallization, good solarization stability and the following composition (in % by weight based on oxides): 

Optical glasses of the dense barium flint position

Lead and arsenic free, and preferably gadolinium and further preferably also fluorine free, optical glasses for the application fields mapping, projection, telecommunication, optical communication engineering, mobile drive, laser technology and/or micro lens arrays have a refractive index of 1.91&#x2266;n&#x2266;2.05, an Abbe number of 19&#x2266;&#x3bd;&#x2266;25 and have a low transformation temperature, namely of less than or equal to 470&#xb0; C. and preferably of less than or equal to 450&#xb0; C., as well as good producability and processability and crystallization stability.

Lead and arsenic free optical glass with high refractive index

The lead-free, fluorine-free and arsenic-free optical glass, which is useful in mapping, projection, telecommunication, optical communication engineering, and mobile drive and laser technology, has a refractive index of 1.75&#x2266;n&#x2266;1.83, an Abbe number of 34&#x2266;V&#x2266;44, and Tg&#x2266;560&#xb0; C. The glass is free of WOand TeOand has a composition in percent by weight based on oxide content of: SiO, 0.5-8; BO, 10-25; ZnO, 10-22; LaO, 23-34; TaO, &#x3e;15-25; NbO, 0.5-15; AlO, 0-2; and can include optional ingredients, e.g. alkali and/or alkaline-earth oxides. In addition, a sum of BOand ZnO is 33 to 41% by weight and preferably a sum of LaO+TaO+NbOOis greater than 50% by weight.

Lead and arsenic free optical lanthanum borate glass

The lead-free optical glass can be used in the fields of imaging, sensor technology, microscopy, medical technology, digital projection, photolithography, laser technology, wafer/chip technology, as well as of telecommunications, optical communication engineering and optics/lighting in the automotive sector. It has a refractive index nof 1.82&#x2266;n&#x2266;2.00 and/or an Abbe number vof 18&#x2266;v&#x2266;28 with good chemical stability, excellent crystallization stability and the following composition, in wt. based on oxide content, of:
