A process for removing acid gases from a hydrocarbonaceous fluid stream or an oxygen-comprising fluid stream in which the fluid stream is contacted with an aqueous solution which is essentially free from inorganic basic salts and comprises (i) at least one amine and (ii) at least one metal salt of an aminocarboxylic acid and/or an aminosulfonic acid. Conjoint use of the aminocarboxylic and/or aminosulfonic salt reduces the coabsorption of hydrocarbons or oxygen without significantly impairing the absorption rate at which acid gases are absorbed, without significantly reducing the absorption capacity of the solution for acid gases, and without significantly increasing the energy demand required for regeneration.

Removal of acid gases from a fluid flow by means of reduced coabsorption of hydrocarbons and oxygen

An absorption medium for removing acid gases from a fluid stream comprises an aqueous solution of A) at least one cyclic amine compound having solely tertiary amine groups and/or sterically hindered secondary amine groups and B) at least one cyclic amine compound having at least one sterically unhindered secondary amine group. The absorption medium comprises, e.g., an aqueous solution of A) 1-hydroxyethylpiperidine and/or triethylenediamine and B) piperazine. The absorption medium is particularly suitable for separating off carbon dioxide from flue gases and satisfies the following criteria: (i) sufficient capacity at low COpartial pressures; (ii) sufficiently rapid absorption rate at low COpartial pressures; (iii) stability toward oxygen; (iv) low vapor pressure for reducing solvent losses; and (v) low energy requirement for regeneration of the absorption medium.

Cyclic-amine-comprising absorption medium for removing acid gases

A process for the recovery of carbon dioxide, which includes: (a) an absorption step of bringing a carbon dioxide-containing gaseous feed stream into gas-liquid contact with an absorbing fluid, whereby at least a portion of the carbon dioxide present in the gaseous stream is absorbed into the absorbing fluid to produce (i) a refined gaseous stream having a reduced carbon dioxide content and (ii) an carbon dioxide-rich absorbing fluid; and (b) a regeneration step of treating the carbon dioxide-rich absorbing fluid at a pressure of greater than 3 bar (absolute pressure) so as to liberate carbon dioxide and regenerate a carbon dioxide-lean absorbing fluid which is recycled for use in the absorption step, in which the absorbing fluid is an aqueous amine solution containing a tertiary aliphatic alkanol amine and an effective amount of a carbon dioxide absorption promoter, the tertiary aliphatic alkanol amine showing little decomposition under specified conditions of temperature and pressure under co-existence with carbon dioxide.

Process for the recovery of carbon dioxide

A process for removing carbon dioxide from a fluid flow, wherein a) the fluid flow is brought into contact with an absorption agent which contains a solution of ammonia and at least one amino carboxylic acid and/or amino sulfonic acid, a charged absorption agent being obtained, and b) the charged absorption agent is regenerated while releasing carbon dioxide. The additional use of the amino carboxylic acid and/or amino sulfonic acid increases the circulation absorption capacity of the absorption agent.

Method for removing carbon dioxide from fluid flows, in particular combustion exhaust gases

Absorption medium and method for removing sour gases from fluid streams, in particular from flue gases

Absorption medium for acid gases comprising an oligoamine (A) of the general formula (I) and a primary or secondary alkanolamine (B) of the general formula (II) in which the weight ratio of oligoamine (A) to the primary or secondary alkanolamine (B) is 0.2 to 4, and also the process for removing acid gases from a gas stream by contacting the gas stream at a pressure of 0.05 to 10 MPa abs with an aqueous solution brought to and maintained at a temperature of 20 to 80&#xb0; C. of said absorption medium.

An absorption medium for removing acid gases from a fluid stream comprises an aqueous solution of a) of at least one metal salt of an aminocarboxylic acid, and b) of at least one acid promoter, wherein the molar ratio of b) to a) is in the range from 0.0005 to 1.0. The acid promoter is selected from mineral acids, carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids, organic phosphonic acids and partial esters thereof. Absorption medium for removing acid gases which comprises amino acid and acid promoter

A description is given of an absorption medium for removing carbon dioxide from gas streams which comprises aqueous solution of an amine of the formula IHNR&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)where one or both radicals R are and the other radical R is hydrogen. The absorption medium is distinguished by particular oxidation resistance.

Absorption medium and method for removing carbon dioxide from gas streams

A description is given of an absorption medium for removing carbon dioxide from a gas stream, which comprises an aqueous solution of at least one amine and at least one aminocarboxylic acid and/or aminosulfonic acid. A description is given of a process for removing carbon dioxide from gas streams in which the partial pressure of the carbon dioxide is less than 200 mbar, in particular flue gases, the gas stream being contacted with a liquid absorption medium which comprises an aqueous solution (A) of a tertiary aliphatic alkanolamine and (B) an activator of the formulaR&#x2014;NH&#x2014;R&#x2014;NH,where Ris C-C-alkyl and Ris C-C-alkylene, the sum of the concentrations of A and B being 2.5 to 7 mol/l, and the molar ratio of B to A being in the range of 1:3 to 1.5:1. The activator is, for example, 3-methylaminopropylamine, the tertiary aliphatic amine methyldiethanolamine, methyldiisopropanolamine or n-butyldiethanolamine. The process permits substantial removal of carbon dioxide and the regeneration of the absorption medium is possible with relatively low energy consumption.

Removal of carbon dioxide from flue gases

A method is provided for removing acid gases and ammonia from a fluid stream in which a fluid stream comprising acid gases and ammonia is brought into contact with an aqueous absorption medium. The fluid stream is depleted of acid gases and ammonia and the absorption medium stream, which is charged with acid gases and ammonia, is regenerated in a desorption step. The acid gases and the ammonia are stripped out of the absorption medium and the condensable fractions thereof are condensed. A condensate and also a purified absorption medium stream are obtained. The condensate is ejected in part or completely from the desorption step, or feed in part or completely to a distillation column in which ammonia is separated off overhead as an aqueous solution or in the pure state. A aqueous bottom stream is obtained which is recycled to the absorption step or the desorption step.
