A method is for the transmission of patient-specific data to an examination log adjustment unit. In an embodiment, the method includes providing a user interface via a software application; receiving patient-specific data of a patient via the user interface, the patient-specific data being based on an input into the user interface; storing the patient-specific data received; and transmitting the patient-specific data to the examination log adjustment unit, the examination log adjustment unit being embodied to adjust an examination log for a medical imaging examination of the patient based upon the patient-specific data.

An embodiment of the invention relates to a method for calculating an image matrix size N for reconstructing image data of an examination subject from projection data. The method includes acquiring projection data obtained during a relative rotational movement between a radiation source of a computed tomography system and the examination subject; calculating the image matrix size N as a function of an extent of an axial field of view of the computed tomography system and a sharpness value in the image data to be reconstructed; and making the calculated image matrix size available to a reconstruction unit to reconstruct the image data from the projection data acquired.

An adaptive method for generating CT image data is described. In the method, projection measurement data of an examination region of an examination object is acquired. Furthermore, uncorrected image data of the examination region is generated. Artifact-affected subregions of the examination region are determined on the basis of at least one part of the uncorrected image data. An artifact-reduced image reconstruction is carried out in the artifact-affected subregions of the examination region. Only artifact-reduced subimage data of the artifact-affected subregions is generated. Finally, artifact-reduced image data of the entire examination region is generated by combining at least one part of the uncorrected image data and the artifact-reduced subimage data. A reconstruction device is also described. Moreover, a computed tomography system is described.

A method is for checking a medical image with regard to a processing of the medical image via an image processing module. A method for defining scanning parameters of a CT scan of a region of interest of an examination object (O) using a CT system is described. In an embodiment of the method, external image capture of external features of the examination object is carried out using an additional image capture unit. In addition, at least one scanning parameter in the axial direction of the CT system is determined on the basis of the external image capture. Finally, a CT scan is performed using the at least one scanning parameter determined. A CT scan range defining device is additionally described. A computed tomography system is also described.

A control method is disclosed for determining a quality indicator of medical technology recording results data from a tomography scan of an examination structure, which scan is supported by a contrast agent, by way of a tomography system. According to an embodiment of the invention, at least one control parameter value is automatically derived from the recording results data in respect of a contrast agent image region during and/or directly after the tomography scan, which value represents a quality of the recording results data in the contrast agent image region. A control system for such a determination is also disclosed.

A method and a system for monitoring a bolus value are disclosed. The method includes contrast-agent-assisted test recording of a time series of test images of a region under examination, wherein one bolus value is determined in each of the respective test images, together with the change in the bolus values between at least two test images. The method includes regulating the time interval between the recordings of individual test images as a function of the change in the bolus values, thereby enabling the temporal resolution for determining the bolus value to be selected in such a way that it corresponds to the change in the bolus values. In this way the temporal resolution in the monitoring of bolus values is improved with a view to avoiding both too high and too low a recording rate for the test images.

Dose- and time-optimized monitoring of bolus values

A method is disclosed for selecting a radiation form, to change spatial distribution of the intensity and/or the spectrum of x-ray radiation of an x-ray source of an imaging system including a plurality of radiation form filters. The method includes acquiring a plurality of radiation absorption profiles of an examination object, of which image data is to be generated with the aid of the imaging system, in parallel with the patient axis from various directions; calculating an effective radiation absorption profile by averaging the recorded radiation absorption profiles; and selecting the radiation form filter on the basis of the effective radiation absorption profile of the examination object from a plurality of radiation form filters. The automatically established trigger regions are monitored for bolus arrival at the one or more trigger regions. In a method and x-ray device to assist in the reduction of the dose of x-ray radiation applied to the patient in the acquisition of at least one x-ray projection of the patient, a selected protocol is entered by a user into an x-ray device, the selected protocol being defined for the acquisition of the at least one x-ray projection and including a measure or measures for reduction of the dose of x-ray radiation to be applied to the patient in the acquisition of the at least one x-ray projection. The does reduction measure or measures in the selected protocol are automatically compared in a processor of the x-ray device, with the dose reduction measures that are installed at the x-ray device for reduction of the dose of x-ray radiation to be applied to a patient in the acquisition of the at least one x-ray projection. If the result of the comparison indicates a discrepancy between the dose reduction measure or measures in the selected, defined protocol and those installed in the x-ray device, at least one such measure installed at the x-ray device is visualized as a measure that can be set or activated by the user, that is not yet included in the selected protocol.

Method and device to assist in dose reduction of X-ray radiation applied to a patient

In a method and x-ray device to determine the value of an x-ray tube voltage to generate at least one image of defined tissue to be examined, at least one provided parameter is used that establishes or describes the desired image quality; based on the dependency of the contrast of the defined tissue to be examined on the spectrum of the x-ray radiation or on the value of the tube voltage of the x-ray tube. The tube voltage is determined also based on a contrast-to-noise ratio that is constantly maintained under consideration of the aforementioned parameter such that the dose of x-ray radiation applied to the patient is optimally low upon setting the value of the tube voltage at the x-ray tube and the acquisition of at least one x-ray projection of the defined tissue.

Method and X-ray device to determine the value of the tube voltage

A CT system for scanning a patient is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the system includes a tube/detector system, which can be set by a control device in respect of tube voltage and/or dose power; a patient couch, which can be displaced in a controlled fashion at least in the direction of a system axis; and a computer system, which can control the CT system. In at least one embodiment, the system includes an evaluation unit for a prescribed logical decision tree, which is integrated into the computer system, and which determines examination and scan parameters for the CT system on the basis of the input of at least one patient parameter described in a parameter list and operates the CT system using these examination and scan parameters.

The value of a tube voltage of an x-ray tube, used to acquire x-ray projections of a patient in order to generate at least one image in each phase of a multiphase examination, is determined from a contrast-to-noise ratio that establishes the desired image quality of the image in each phase, and the tube current for each tube voltage for each phase is determined given a constantly maintained contrast-to-noise ratio for different tube voltages. For each phase, a value for the dose of x-ray radiation is defined for each different tube voltage and the associated determined tube current. From among the different tube voltages, a tube voltage is set that causes the total dose of x-ray radiation applied to the patient to be as low as possible for all phases of the examination.
