A method for processing data of an analytical instrument for analyzing biological samples is presented. The method comprises receiving instrument data from the analytical instrument at a data processing module communicatively connected with the analytical instrument, generating metadata from the received instrument data at the data processing module, applying a first encryption to the instrument data at the data processing module, applying a second encryption to the generated metadata at the data processing module, and transmitting the encrypted metadata and encrypted instrument data to a remote server. The remote server and the data processing module are communicatively connected. The method also comprises removing the second encryption from the metadata at the remote server and forwarding the instrument data encrypted by the first encryption from the remote server to a management system of the analytical instrument.

Methods and systems for processing data of an analytical instrument for analyzing biological samples

A computer-implemented method for tracking laboratory resources is disclosed. The laboratory resource comprises an identification feature. The method comprises an identification step comprising detecting the laboratory resource in the laboratory with an imaging sensor of an augmented reality device and identifying the laboratory resource with an identification unit of the augmented reality device by receiving identification information from the identification feature, a data retrieving step comprising retrieving information about the identified laboratory resource from a data server via a communication interface of the augmented reality device, and a tracking step comprising generating and displaying augmented reality information on a display device of the augmented reality device. The augmented reality information comprises a hologram comprising the retrieved information about the identified laboratory resource and/an instruction depending on the retrieved information about the identified laboratory resource.

Consumable management system for laboratories

A method for operating a laboratory system comprising laboratory instruments and a laboratory information system is presented. The method comprises grouping laboratory instruments into instrument cluster(s) and providing a cluster manager thereto. The plurality of laboratory instruments publishes their instrument resource descriptions. Each cluster manager maintains an inventory of cluster resources and publishes a list of processing capabilities of the instrument cluster. The laboratory information system assigns processing of test order(s) to instrument clusters. Each cluster manager assigns resources of the laboratory instruments corresponding to test orders from the laboratory information system in view of the inventory of cluster resources. Each laboratory instrument carries out the processing step(s) on the biological sample as instructed by the cluster manager.

Method for operating a laboratory system

A method implemented by an analysis system is presented. The method comprises receiving task data objects. At least some of the received task data objects are aggregated into aggregated task data object groups. All task data objects belonging to the same aggregated task data object group share at least one step of a task. A selectable aggregation GUI element is specified for each of the aggregated task data object groups. The aggregation GUI elements are displayed in an aggregated view on a graphical user interface. Upon selection of one of the aggregation GUI elements by a user, the aggregated task data object group represented by the selected aggregation GUI element is selected and the user access to program instructions for executing the shared step of the selected aggregated task data object group is automatically provided.

Computer-implemented method for providing access control to a function of an analyzer is presented. A user's log-in data is received from a first data entry terminal. Information descriptive of a position of the first data entry terminal is obtained. It is determined whether the position of the first data entry terminal is within a physical operating (PO) area of the analyzer. A user activatable position sensitive (PS) GUI element is displayed on the first data entry terminal if the position of the first data entry terminal is determined to be within the PO area. The activatable PS GUI element triggers, upon activation, the execution of the function. The execution of the function comprises the execution of a physical action by the analyzer. The display of the user activatable PS GUI element is otherwise prohibited or a non-activatable PS GUI element indicative of the function is displayed.
