A melter for preparing a molten medium, in particular for preparing a molten adhesive, has a melting tank that has a melting chamber for receiving and melting a medium to be melted. The melter has a heating device for heating the melting chamber. The melting chamber has an upper chamber section and a lower chamber section. The melting tank has a dispensing opening that can be fluidly connected to a delivery device for delivering the molten medium. The melting tank further has a drain opening. The dispensing opening and the drain opening open into the lower chamber section. The melter further has a closure body for closing the drain opening. In a closed position, the closure body closes the drain opening and an end section of the closure body projects into the lower chamber section.

A melter for preparing a molten medium, in particular for preparing a molten adhesive, has a housing and a melting tank formed within the housing. The melter further has a filling opening for introducing the medium to be melted. The melter further has a wall section which encircles the filling opening. The melter further has an insulating body which encircles the filling opening and covers the wall section. The insulating body is elastically deformable for use in such a melter.

A delivery unit for dispensing adhesive having a housing, a melting apparatus arranged within the housing for melting the adhesive, a distributing device for dispensing molten adhesive in at least one line connectable to the distributing device, and a pump for conveying the molten adhesive through the distributing device, wherein the housing has a plurality of outer side faces, two of the outer side faces are of a flat configuration and arranged perpendicular to a support plane of the delivery unit on a base and substantially at a right angle to each other, and wherein the distributing device, in a region in which the line is connectable to a connector of the distributing device, has a boundary surface of a flat configuration. The two outer side faces are arranged at a distance apart with the boundary surface therebetween forming an obtuse angle with each of the two outer side faces.

Delivery unit for dispensing adhesive

An apparatus is provided for gathering signatures along a conveying section of a circulating conveyor provided with spaced-apart pushers that are attached to a traction mechanism. The apparatus includes a delivery station adapted for being arranged along the conveying section. The delivery station includes a downward slanted conveying path wherein the signatures are supplied via the downward slanted conveying path from the delivery station to the conveyor approximately in synchronism with movement of the circulating conveyor. The conveying path includes a convex conveying section followed by a concave conveying section in the conveying direction for the signatures.

A method for producing bound books, magazines or brochures by gathering printed sheets into non-bound book blocks along a conveying section that is supplied by at least one sheet feeder includes separating the lowest printed sheet from a stack of printed sheets by lifting one edge region of the lowest printed sheet from the bottom of the printed sheet stack, withdrawing the separated lowest printed sheet with the aid of a conveying element from the remaining sheet stack by gripping the separated edge region with the conveying element, and subsequently withdrawing the separated lowest printed sheet in a direction parallel to the longitudinal extension of the edge region of the remaining sheet stack. The apparatus includes a separating device that lifts up the printed sheet at the stack front and a conveying element that pulls the printed sheet from the stack where both are arranged jointly on a removal unit.
