In a process for the production of cement clinker, in which raw meal is preheated in a preheater () using the hot exhaust gases from a clinker kiln, and the preheated raw meal, which is optionally calcined in a calciner (), is burned to clinker in the clinker kiln (), wherein the preheater () comprises at least one string of a plurality of cyclone suspension-type heat exchangers (), through which the kiln exhaust gas successively flows and in which the raw meal is preheated in stages, a partial stream of the kiln exhaust gas is diverted such that only a remaining residual stream of the kiln exhaust gas is utilized for preheating the raw meal.

In a method for reprocessing wet waste materials containing organic components, in particular sludges in a cement clinker production plant, in which raw meal is preheated in a preheater () in countercurrent flow to the hot exhaust gases of a clinker furnace (), and calcined in a calciner () fired with alternative fuels, the wet waste materials are dried in a drying unit () using a hot gas produced from the preheater waste heat and the dried waste materials and the drier exhaust gases are discharged from the drying unit (), wherein the drier exhaust gases are introduced into the calciner ().

In a method for utilizing alternative fuels in the production of clinker or cement the alternative fuels are employed in reactors () for the preheating and/or precalcining of raw meal in a combustion device () separate from the burners () of the respective reactor () and are at least partially burnt whereupon an, if necessary, complete combustion is carried out inside the reactors () with the combustion oxygen fed to the burner () of the reactor () in excess of stoichiometry. The device for utilizing alternative fuels in the production of clinker or cement having a clinker kiln () and a reactor () with burners () for preheating and calcining of raw meal and having at least one duct () for combustion air or -oxygen respectively is characterized in that a separate combustion device () having a conveyor for alternative fuels such as, for instance, a pusher or a screw conveyor () is provided and opens inside the respective reactor ().

Method and device for use of alternative fuels in clinker and cement production

Method and device for removing volatile organic components (VOC) from waste gases of a cement clinker kiln installation. Cooled waste gases are subjected to post-combustion carried out to an extent ensuring a concentration reduction of the VOC below admissible values. Post-combustion is carried out for production of vapor, dimensioned for a gas volume to be post-combusted, ensuring that a partial quantity of the waste gas corresponding to the gas volume allows for the reduction of emitted VOC per unit time in the waste gas below admissible concentration values by rarefaction. The partial quantity of the waste gas is simultaneously dimensioned for production of an amount of vapor sufficient for economical operation of a steam turbine. The device includes a branch line connected to a waste gas line between a pre-calciner and a waste gas suction fan, and a combustion chamber and a turbine connected to the branch line.
