A computing system includes a memory () that stores instructions of an image finger printer module (). The computing system further includes a processor () that receives a bitmap digital image and generates a first key, which is an electronic compressed representation of the bitmap digital image, that uniquely identifies the bitmap digital image. A computer readable storage medium is encoded with computer readable instructions, which, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to: normalize a bitmap digital medical image; sample the normalized bitmap digital medical image; post-processes the sampled, normalized bitmap digital medical image; package the post-processed, sampled, normalized bitmap digital medical image as a key that uniquely identifies the bitmap digital medical image.

Image fingerprinting

A method for sending a secure message within a communications network which operates a short message service (SMS) according to an SMS protocol. The method consists of transmitting an SMS message of a predefined type from a mobile transceiver over the network, receiving the SMS message at an SMS receiver, and transmitting an authorization request, responsive to the SMS message and the predefined type, from the SMS receiver to the mobile transceiver. The method further includes receiving the authorization request at the mobile transceiver, transmitting a pre-determined confirmation code from the mobile transceiver responsive to the authorization request, and forwarding the SMS message from the SMS receiver to a message destination responsive to receipt of the confirmation code at the SMS receiver.

Secure short message service

A method for dialing a telephone number indirectly, including obtaining an alphanumeric identifier that is assigned to a telephone subscriber and associating the identifier with a destination telephone number of the telephone subscriber to form a mapping therebetween. The method further includes storing the mapping in a lookup table, dialing the identifier using an originating telephone, using the identifier as a pointer to the lookup table so as to recover the destination telephone number from the stored mapping, and establishing a connection between the originating telephone and a destination telephone via the destination telephone number.
