First production data is based on the planned first dental restoration for production thereof or of a product related to a medical procedure for installing at least a portion of the first dental restoration in an oral cavity of the patient. Scan data is provided including factual position data and/or factual shape data based on the first dental restoration when at least partly installed in the oral cavity of the patient. The second dental restoration is virtually planned, including adjusting the planned first dental restoration in dependence of the scan data. Second production data is provided based on the planned second dental restoration useful for production of the second dental restoration.

A method, system, and dental prosthesis are provided to facilitate simulation of the natural appearance of teeth. The prosthesis can be formed to include a component to which an aesthetic coating, such as a coloring or tint, can be applied. Further, the prosthesis can include a porcelain coating disposed on the outer surface thereof, and on top of the aesthetic coating, such that the aesthetic coating can be visible through the porcelain coating of the prosthesis. During production, the crown can be coated with a metal and/or ceramic powder by means of a powder printer that can be controlled by computer equipment. A practical and rapid application function can be obtained to produce an extremely natural-looking result.

A method, system and computer program of planning a dental prosthesis in a patient are disclosed, including steps, units or code segments for virtually planning a dental prosthesis. Envelope data is provided of an envelope guide, including data corresponding to a support surface for facial tissue, which is desired to result when the dental prosthesis is installed in the oral cavity of the patient. An outer envelope of a desired dental prosthesis in the oral cavity is simulated based on the envelope data. A desired dental restoration is provided and adjusted in a virtual environment relative to the simulated outer envelope, and dental prosthesis data is generated based on the adjusted desired dental restoration usable for producing the dental prosthesis.

System and method for planning and/or producing a dental prosthesis

A scanning structure having at least one surface with a shape adapted to conform to a portion of a craniofacial space is described. The scanning structure includes at least one surface object, which is at least partly identifiable from a first set of data, and where a first coordinate is identifiable based on the surface object. The scanning structure includes at least one volume object, which is at least partly identifiable from a second set of data, and where a second coordinate is identifiable based on the volume object. Presented herein are methods and devices for designing dental components, such as physical models of a patient's anatomy, crowns and bridges. An operator of a prosthetic designing system can receive information, such as from a scanner, which provides information on the topology of the patient's dentition. The operator can use this information to design a custom prosthetic to fit the patient. Part of the designing process involves using a finish line defined for a preparation as a segmentation line for a physical die corresponding to the preparation, and using a path of draw line as an insertion axis line for a dental prosthetic.

The invention further pertains to an absorbent article comprising the material laminate.
