The present disclosure relates to a caster wheel assembly () for a wheelchair, comprising: a caster housing (), a central body () having a radially outwards extending flange (), which central body () is configured to be received by the caster housing (), a spindle shaft () configured to be rotationally locked relative to the central body (), a first bearing () having an inner bearing race () configured to be rotationally locked relative to the spindle shaft (), a friction member () configured to be rotationally locked relative to the caster housing (), and a resilient member () configured to be arranged between the flange () and the friction member (), and configured to provide a force between the flange () and the friction member () to thereby create friction torque between the caster housing () and the spindle shaft ().

Caster wheel assembly and wheelchair comprising the same

A seat assembly including a seat, a support plate configured to pivot with respect to the seat, a slide plate slidably mounted to the support plate, and a pivot arm positioned between the support plate and the slide plate and connected to the slide plate and the seat. When the support plate is pivotally adjusted with respect to the seat, the pivot arm causes the slide plate to slide along the support plate.

Wheelchair backrest assembly

A backrest assembly for a wheelchair includes a support plate pivotally connected to a seat, wherein the support plate is configured to be pivotally adjusted between upright and reclined positions with respect to the seat; a slide plate slidably secured on a front surface of the support plate; and a backrest adjustment assembly operatively connected to the support plate and the slide plate. The backrest adjustment assembly includes a link configured to adjust the support plate. The slide plate slides over the support plate through the link.

A powered wheelchair includes a seat assembly configured to support an individual, a legrest assembly pivotally connected to the seat assembly, and an adjustment assembly including an actuator operatively connected to the central column through a piston slidably secured within a sleeve. The adjustment assembly is secured underneath the seat assembly. The powered wheelchair may also include an extension bracket that allows legrests and a central column of the legrest assembly to be separately and independently adjusted with respect to one another.

A powered wheelchair includes a seat assembly configured to support an individual, a curved legrest assembly pivotally connected to the seat assembly, and an adjustment assembly including an actuator operatively connected to the central column through a piston slidably secured within a sleeve. The adjustment assembly is secured underneath the seat assembly. The powered wheelchair may also include an extension bracket that allows legrests and a central column of the curved legrest assembly to be separately and independently adjusted with respect to one another.
