In one aspect, a carrier recovery apparatus of a liquid electrophotographic printer includes a drying unit, a cooling unit for cooling and condensing carrier vapor evaporated by the drying unit, a condenser for condensing the carrier vapor which has not been condensed by the cooling unit, and a carrier recovery container. In another aspect, a carrier recovery apparatus of a liquid electrophotographic printer includes a drying unit, a first cooling unit for cooling and condensing carrier vapor evaporated by the drying unit, a second cooling unit for cooling the carrier which has passed through the first cooling unit, a condenser for condensing the carrier vapor which has not been condensed by the first and second cooling units, and a carrier recovery container. Accordingly, the efficiency of condensing carrier vapor is improved. As a result, the recovery percentage of a carrier increases, and the duration of a filter is extended.

Carrier recovery apparatus of liquid electrophotographic printer

A developing solution feeder of a wet type electrophotographic color printer includes a plurality of circulation tanks for storing the developing solution to be fed to a developing unit; a plurality of injection nozzles for jetting the developing solution stored in the circulation tanks to a developing gap of the developing unit; a plurality of ink storage tanks and a carrier storage tank for respectively storing the condensed ink of a certain color and a carrier to be fed to the circulation tanks, respectively; a waste tank for collecting the waste developing solution produced from the circulation tanks; a refill cartridge for the supplementation of the condensed ink or the carrier; developing solution refilling/waste developing solution collecting means for refilling the ink storage tanks or the carrier storage tank with the condensed ink or the carrier, respectively, and for evacuating the waste developing solution collected in the waste tank to the empty refill cartridge; and ink injecting/constant feeding means having a gear pump for jetting the condensed ink or the refill cartridge to the ink storage tanks during the condensed ink refilling process by the pumping action while being driven in a certain direction, and for feeding the appropriate amount of the condensed ink stored in the ink storage tanks to the circulation tanks while being driven in a reverse direction. Accordingly, since the condensed ink within the refill cartridge is jetted to the ink storage tanks by the gear pump, the condensed ink is stored in the refill cartridge, purely. As a result, the property change of the condensed ink, which is caused due to the presence of compressed air, is prevented. Further, since the gear pump functions to feed the condensed ink of the ink storage tanks to the circulation tanks, the condensed ink is fed to the circulation tanks in more appropriate amounts.

Apparatus for feeding developing solution for a wet type electrophotographic color printer

In an air circulation system of a liquid electrophotographic printer, an engine shell includes a developing unit for developing an electrostatic latent image which is formed on a photoreceptor belt and having an air injector, a drying unit for drying the developed image, and a transferring unit for transferring the developed image to print paper. Air in the engine shell is taken in and exhausted to the outside though a main path. A filter is installed on the main path for filtering air. A return path is branched from the main path and through which the air taken in from the engine shell is supplied to the air injector. An air pump provides a driving force such that air can flow along the main path and the return path. Thus, as air can be exhausted from the engine shell and the exhausted air can be re-supplied to the air injector using a single pump, the structure of the system is simplified.

The carrier recovery apparatus includes a water/carrier separating unit with a level sensor installed at a predetermined level on a purge tank. The level sensor detects the level of the liquid carrier in the purge tank and generates a signal representing the level of the liquid carrier. The water/carrier separating unit also has a pump driven to draw out the water and liquid carrier stored in the purge tank through a connection pipe connected to the bottom of the purge tank in accordance with the signal generated from the level sensor, a first branching pipe branched off from the connection pipe to be connected to a waste water tank, and having a first valve selectively opened or closed, a second branching pipe branched off from the connection pipe to be connected to the carrier tank, and having a second valve selectively opened or closed, and a conductivity sensor installed at one end of the first branching pipe, for detecting the conductivities of the water and the liquid carrier and transmitting a control signal for selectively opening or closing the first valve and the second valve.

A carrier recovery apparatus of a liquid electrophotographic printer including a dry roller which contacts a photoreceptor belt, for absorbing a liquid carrier therefrom, a heating roller for heating the dry roller and evaporating the carrier, a manifold for hermetically sealing and surrounding the dry roller and the heating roller so as to accommodate the evaporated gas carrier, a circulation line for connecting an outlet and an inlet formed in the manifold to form a closed loop, along which the gas carrier accommodated in the manifold circulates, a driving fan for supplying a driving force which allows the gas carrier to circulate, and a condensing means installed in the circulation line, for cooling and condensing the circulating gas carrier and transmitting the condensed carrier to a cartridge.
