A method operates a hearing device system which has a hearing aid and a peripheral device which provides a voice-controlled digital assistant. A microphone signal from the hearing aid is examined for own voice components of the wearer of the hearing aid. If own voice components are detected by the hearing aid the microphone signal is examined for a pre-defined activation command for the digital assistant. If the activation command is recognized, a portion of the microphone signal representing the activation command and a subsequent speech sequence is processed by the hearing aid for a speech recognizer of the digital assistant using an algorithm. The processed portion of the microphone signal is transmitted to the peripheral device.

A method is indicated for operating a hearing aid, wherein the hearing aid is switchable between a usage state, in which a signal processing unit of the hearing aid is activated, and an idle state, in which the signal processing unit is deactivated. The hearing aid has a time measuring unit, which has a first timer and a second timer. The first timer is activated in the usage state and is deactivated in the idle state, for time measurement during the usage state. The second timer is activated in the idle state for time measurement during the idle state. Furthermore, a corresponding hearing aid is indicated.

A method operates a hearing device which performs active noise suppression for suppressing noise signals having one or more frequency components. An audiogram is provided which specifies a hearing threshold of a user of the hearing device as a function of frequency, wherein by using the audiogram it is determined which frequency components of the noise are audible to the user and which are not audible. The noise suppression is operated selectively by suppressing audible frequency components of the noise and by not suppressing inaudible frequency components of the noise. A corresponding hearing device is operated according to the method.

A method for operating a hearing device is specified. The hearing device is assigned to a user and connected to other hearing devices, which are each assigned to another user, for data exchange in a common network. The hearing device or one of the other hearing devices controls the data exchange by subscribing to the network as a master, and wherein all other hearing devices subscribe to the network as a slave. It is decided whether the hearing device subscribes to the network as a master or as a slave by determining the operational capability of the hearing device and comparing it with the operational capability of the other hearing devices and by the hearing device acting as a master if the hearing device has the highest operational capability, and otherwise as a slave.

A method transmits a hearing aid setting data set from a first hearing aid to a second hearing aid. By use of an Internet-capable third device, a translation instruction for translating hearing aid setting data contained in the hearing aid setting data set from a platform of the first hearing aid to a platform of the second hearing aid is retrieved from a database. The translation instruction is transmitted to the first or the second hearing aid or to a local fourth device. By the Internet-capable third device, an instruction for transmitting the hearing aid setting data set is output and the hearing aid setting data set is transmitted locally and while bypassing the Internet or a computer network from the first to the second hearing aid. The hearing aid setting data contained in the hearing aid setting data set are translated in the first or the second hearing aid or in the fourth device without access to the Internet or the computer network to the platform of the second hearing aid.

A first hearing device is assigned to a first user and a second hearing device is assigned to another, second user. The first hearing device emits a first acoustic ID of a voice of the first user as a coupling request. The second hearing device receives the first acoustic ID and compares the first acoustic ID with a second acoustic ID. If the first acoustic ID matches the second acoustic ID the second hearing device emits a coupling acceptance so that the first hearing device is coupled with the second hearing device for exchanging data between these two hearing devices. There is also described a corresponding hearing device for carrying out the method.

A hearing aid system includes a hearing aid with a rechargeable battery and a first data memory for storing operating data, and a charging station with a nonvolatile second data memory. The charging station charges the battery of the hearing aid at least intermittently while the hearing aid is arranged in a charging position. The hearing aid transmits operating data from the first data memory to the charging station when the hearing aid is arranged in a transmission position. The charging station stores operating data transmitted from the hearing aid in the second data memory, and the charging station transmits operating data stored in the second data memory to the hearing aid. A computer unit of the hearing aid adjusts at least one parameter relating to signal processing of the hearing aid based on the operating data transmitted from the charging station to the hearing aid.

A method operates a hearing device in present surroundings such that noise cancellation of the hearing device is activated, so that ambient sounds are reduced for a user of the hearing device. A desired value for the voice volume of the user is determined for the present surroundings. An actual value for the voice volume of the user is measured. If the actual value is lower than the desired value, the hearing device takes a measure to prompt the user to speak more loudly. Additionally, a hearing device is configured to implement the method.

A method for operating a hearing device is specified. The hearing device has at least one microphone that picks up an input sound signal and converts it into an electrical input signal. The hearing device has a signal processing section that modifies the electrical input signal on the basis of an audiogram of a user and thereby generates a first electrical output signal. The hearing device has an active noise reduction system that generates a second electrical output signal in order to reject a noise component. The hearing device has a receiver that converts the first electrical output signal and the second electrical output signal into an output sound signal, for output to the user. The active noise reduction system is operated in parallel with the signal processing section. A corresponding hearing device is programmed to perform the method.
