Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive information indicating whether hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback is disabled for one or more HARQ processes. The UE may receive a downlink communication. The downlink communication may include a HARQ process identifier that indicates a HARQ process to be used for the downlink communication. The UE may selectively provide HARQ feedback for the downlink communication based at least in part on the HARQ identifier and information indicating whether HARQ feedback is disabled for the HARQ process. Disabling hybrid automatic repeat request feedback

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may select a default value for a radio parameter used for communicating with a network node based at least in part on whether the network node is a terrestrial network (TN) node or a non-terrestrial network (NTN) node, an orbit type associated with the network node, or a coverage type associated with the network node. The UE may transmit a communication, e.g., to the network node based at least in part on the default value for the radio parameter. Numerous other aspects are described.

Non-terrestrial network default value configuration

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station in a wireless communications system. The UE may perform a random access procedure to communicate with the base station. The base station may configure the UE with different sets of preamble parameters for different types of UEs. The UE may generate a random access preamble based on the sets of preamble parameters according to the type of the UE. The base station may indicate a location of the base station to the UE. The UE may identify a location of the UE. The UE may determine a pre-compensation timing based on a distance from the two locations. The UE and the base station may transmit subsequent communication according to the random access preamble, the pre-compensation timing, or any combination thereof.

Flexible random access channel configurations

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for indicating a user equipment (UE) preferred paging carrier. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications by a UE generally includes generating a cell measurement report, transmitting the cell measurement report to a network entity, transmitting, to the network entity, an indicator of a preferred paging carrier, and monitoring paging occasions (POs) in at least the preferred paging carrier.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Some aspects relate to Layer 1 or Layer 2 triggered mobility (LTM) using groups of candidate cells. Some aspects more specifically relate to performing LTM operations, such as measurement, reporting, or switching, for cells of an activated group of candidate cells for LTM. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure an activated group of candidate cells in accordance with the activated group of candidate cells being activated. For example, the UE may not measure candidate cells that do not belong to an activated group of candidate cells. In some aspects, the activated group of candidate cells may include a subset of all candidate cells configured for the UE. For example, the UE may perform measurement and reporting for the subset of candidate cells, instead of all candidate cells configured for the UE.

Lower layer triggered mobility cell grouping

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity and via a system information block (SIB), information that indicates frequencies associated with a terrestrial network (TN) cell. The information may include one or more of a priority of frequency, frequency-specific offset, or cell-specific offset. The UE may perform, during an idle mode of the UE, measurements of the frequencies associated with the TN cell based at least in part on a location of the UE being within the TN cell. Performing measurements of frequencies associated with terrestrial network cells

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive first control signaling indicating a configuration associated with a target network node in a non-terrestrial network. The configuration may include a first UE-group configuration and a UE-specific configuration including integrity information for the first UE-group configuration. The UE may perform a connection operation based on a trust status of the first UE-group configuration.

Managing group configurations in wireless communications systems

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit capability information indicating a capability of the UE to receive multicast communications while operating in an inactive state. The UE may receive, from a first cell, configuration information that indicates a common frequency resource (CFR) associated with receiving multicast communications from the first cell while operating in the inactive state. The UE may receive, from the first cell, multicast mobility information associated with receiving multicast communications from one or more neighboring cells while operating in the inactive state. The UE may receive, while operating in the inactive state, one or more multicast communications from at least one of the first cell or a second cell based at least in part on at least one of the configuration information or the multicast mobility information. Configuration of multicast reception and mobility for user equipment in an inactive state

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Described techniques provide for mitigating error in time or frequency adjustments for preambles of a random access procedure. A user equipment may use one value for the adjustment when transmitting data to a non-terrestrial network, but then transmit the preamble of a random access procedure according to a preamble-specific time or frequency adjustment based on one or more indications received from the network (e.g., rather than resetting the adjustment to '0'). By using some signaled value for the preamble-specific timing or frequency adjustment rather than resetting the adjustment to “0,” preamble reception performance may be maintained or improved with as many or fewer position measurements for the UE or non-terrestrial network entity.

Closed loop time and frequency corrections in non-terrestrial networks

A base-station (BS) receiving a random access request from user equipment (a UE), followed by a connection request. The connection request contains UE identity information which may have one of multiple formats depending on whether the access request and/or the connection request indicate that the UE is operating as a bandwidth-limited (BL) UE, an enhanced coverage (CE) UE, or a UE that operates in neither the BL mode nor the CE mode. In the BL mode, the UE may transmit a truncated identifier that is sufficient for the BS to retrieve capability information for the UE prior to transmitting a resource grant to the UE. The BS may then configure the UE and BS to using a radio configuration optimized for the UE's capabilities and transmit the resource grant in accordance with the optimized configuration.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure are directed to techniques for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) codebook design. For example, a user equipment (UE) configured for feedback processing may comprise a memory and a processor configured to receive, from a base station (BS), a first indication of a first feedback process type for providing feedback to the BS for a plurality of feedback processes of the UE. The memory and the processor may also be configured to receive one or more first downlink transmissions from the BS associated with at least one feedback process of the plurality of feedback processes. The memory and the processor may also be configured to transmit feedback or withhold transmission of feedback to the BS regarding decoding of the one or more first downlink transmissions according to the first feedback process type.

Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) codebook design

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes performing a mobility procedure to establish a connection in a target radio access technology (RAT) while maintaining a context established in a source RAT, wherein one of the source RAT or target RAT is a terrestrial network (TN) RAT and the other is a non-terrestrial network (NTN) RAT and sending a tracking area update (TAU) request after establishing the connection in the target RAT.

Handover between terrestrial network and nonterrestrial network

A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, multicast data via a multicast channel. The method also includes transmitting, to the base station, multicast feedback based on receiving the multicast data. In some examples, the multicast feedback is associated with a group of UEs including the UE. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, a re-transmission of the multicast data on the multicast channel or a unicast channel based on one or more of a number of UEs served by the base station, a number of UEs from the group of UEs providing the multicast feedback, or a radio channel condition.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a reference signal received power (RSRP) associated with a reference signal (RS) broadcast by a network. The UE may further measure a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) using a plurality of resource elements (REs) that do not include the RS and excluding REs that do include the RS. Aspects described herein relate to receiving an update value for a timing advance of a satellite link between the UE and a base station, computing, based on the update value for the timing advance, a portion of a timing difference between the update value and a previous value for the timing advance of the satellite link that is corrected by closed loop timing advance control from the base station, computing, based at least in part on computing the portion, a total value for the timing advance of the satellite link, and applying, at the UE and based at least in part on the total value for the timing advance of the satellite link and the closed loop timing advance control, an applied timing advance for communicating with the base station.
