A method for altering bandwidth consumption when receiving content in a user device includes determining a first user device status where the first user device status indicates whether content, which is being accessed by a content-rendering application, is viewable on a display of the user device, based on the first user device status, selecting one of a plurality of available alternative content segments, and receiving the selected content segment.

Method and apparatus for altering bandwidth consumption

A display device may be provided and may be configured to present a virtual field of view comprising a virtual object superimposed on a real-world scene. A controller may be provided and configured to modify display of the virtual object by the display device based on a first color of a real-world object in the real-world scene. The virtual object in the virtual field of view may be superimposed over the real-world object. A lumen output of the display device for displaying the virtual object may be decreased.

Modifying virtual object display properties to increase power performance of augmented reality devices

Various arrangements for organizing virtual objects within an augmented reality display are presented. A display may be provided and configured to present a virtual field-of-view having multiple virtual objects superimposed on a real-world scene. Priorities may be assigned to multiple regions of the virtual field-of-view based on real-world objects present within the real-world scene. A priority of a region of the multiple regions may be based on one or more real-world objects identified in the region. The multiple virtual objects may be displayed within the virtual field-of-view arranged based on the prioritized multiple regions.

Modifying virtual object display properties

Various arrangements for controlling a head-mounted display of an augmented reality display are presented. A head-mounted display may be provided and may be configured to present a virtual field of view comprising a virtual object superimposed on a real-world scene. A controller may be provided and configured to modify display of the virtual object by the head-mounted display based on a first color of a real-world object in the real-world scene. The virtual object in the virtual field of view may be superimposed over the real-world object. A lumen output of the head-mounted display for displaying the virtual object may be decreased.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for wirelessly communicating with a wireless station. In one implementation, a mobile device comprises a memory unit configured to store communication information associated with communicating on at least one channel of a wireless network. The mobile device further comprises a processing system that is configured to establish communications with the wireless station via a communication link, retrieve the communication information from the memory unit, and to provide at least a portion of the communication information to the wireless station.
