A digital assistant may execute one or more tasks using robotic processing automation (RPA). The digital assistant (or robot) assigns a workflow to a robot to monitor for one or more triggers. The one or more triggers comprise one or more events causing a robot to perform an automated tasks with or without user involvement. The robot also identifies the one or more triggers during the monitoring of the one or more triggers, and loads a workflow associated with the one or more identified triggers. The robot further includes executing the loaded workflow to perform one or more tasks associated with the one or more triggers.

Digital assistant using robotic process automation

Embedded and/or pooled robotic process automation (RPA) robots are disclosed. A master robot initiates one or more RPA robots in a deterministic and/or probabilistic manner. For instance, when a step in an RPA workflow of the master robot is encountered where an action is not clear, some data is missing, there are multiple possible branches, etc., one or more embedded and/or pooled minion robots may be called upon by the master robot to determine the next action to take, to retrieve missing data, to determine which branch is appropriate, etc. The master robot may perform orchestration functionality with respect to the minion robot(s).

Systems and methods of managing announcement messages provide for receiving a first announcement message, where the first announcement message is compatible with a first platform protocol of a first messaging server. The first announcement message is translated into a second announcement message, where the second announcement message is compatible with a second platform of a second messaging server. By enabling announcement messages such as voice mail greetings and email 'out-of-office' messages to be created and updated with a single interface, more efficient messaging is achieved.

A cellular telephone maintains a screening list of calling party numbers, and specifies call handling therefor. A mobile switching center is responsive to selected types of the specified call handling. The call handling can depend on whether the call is local or non-local, which is affected by the location of the cellular telephone. A subscriber updates his or her screening list via personal computer, and transmits via a communication network the updated screening list to a message center which sends the updated screening list to the cellular telephone via wireless communication. A calling party number can be specified as a wildcard.

First the proximity of a first telephone to a second telephone is determined. If the proximity is within a predetermined limit or threshold, calls directed to the first telephone are transferred to the second telephone. Procedures are provided which permit any the above-mentioned steps to be performed either at the level of the individual telephones involved in the transfer, or by an element of the network, such as an SC or HLR.

A cellular messaging network includes a switching controller connected to the wireless telephone network. One or more base station micro/picocell retransmitters are coupled to the switching controller. The base station micro/picocell transmitter uses simplified control equipment having no digital traffic channel capability. Each base station micro/picocell retransmitter is able to discriminate between voice channel assignment signals and short messaging signals in the digital control channel, discard the voice channel assignment signals, and rebroadcast the short messaging signals in the digital control channel. One or more receivers are coupled to the base station micro/picocell retransmitters by way of an IS-136 protocol digital control channel. The base station micro/picocell retransmitter can be connected to the switching controller through a twisted-pair telephone line.

A third generation (3G) mobile communication system supports an over-the-air activation scheme utilizing a wireless packet data protocol. A subscriber identity module (SIM) is preloaded with temporary operating parameters such as a temporary international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) that is used for initial access to a network. Once a packet data protocol communication link is established between the mobile device and a network support node, the user may remotely subscribe to a number of service terms using the mobile device. In addition, an activation procedure is carried out to assign permanent operating parameters, e.g., a permanent IMSI, to the SIM. After activation, the user can remotely modify existing terms or remotely enroll in additional service features via a wireless IP link between the mobile device and a network support node.
