A method to assemble and orchestrate elemental value components to accomplish a meaningful higher value. The method including the steps of detecting, by a first sensor, a first vehicle operating parameter, generating, by the first sensor, a first sensor output indicative of the first vehicle operating parameter, populating, by a data pump, a first data repository entry indicative of the first sensor and the first vehicle operating parameter. The method is further operative for generating, by a first processor, a first micro-value output in response to the first data repository entry and a first micro-value algorithm associated with the first sensor, generating, by a concurrent second processor, a first vehicle control signal in response to the first data repository entry, the first micro-value output and a first decision repository table entry associated with the first micro-value output, and controlling, by a vehicle controller, a vehicle in response to the first vehicle control signal.

State driven micro-value architecture

A method for aerial-based event notification includes detecting a trigger event with one or more electronic units of a system. The system includes a telematics unit, a drone having one or more notification actuators, and a tether that connects the drone to the system. The method further includes launching the drone with the telematics unit in response to the trigger event, waiting a predetermined time after the trigger event, retracting the drone in response to a subsequent event being undetected within the predetermined time after the trigger event, detecting the subsequent event with the one or more electronic units, placing the drone in an alert configuration in response to detecting the subsequent event within the predetermined time after the trigger event, and generating one or more alert notifications from the one or more notification actuators while the drone is in the alert configuration.

Aerial-based event notification

Sensors in a vehicle detect execution of a sign language symbol. The sign language symbol invokes a vehicle interface function. In some embodiments, the sign language symbol is an ASL sign. Sensors include three-dimensional optical, ultrasonic, or other sensors. The locations of targets (fingertips, knuckles, palm, etc.) are detected in the individual outputs of the sensors. The locations of targets determined from the outputs of multiple sensors may be associated with one another and filtered, such as using an RBMCDA algorithm and Kalman filtering. The system may be calibrated to detect each symbol by measuring the target locations with the user executing the each symbol.

Sign language inputs to a vehicle user interface

A vehicle is provided comprising a cabin area, a steering wheel, a plurality of microphones positioned in the cabin area and configured to have pick-up sensitivity in select directions, and a cue generator configured to provide a haptic cue on the steering wheel in response to a sound detected by the plurality of microphones. Also provided are systems and methods for indicating a detected sound direction in a vehicle. A plurality of microphones are positioned in a vehicle cabin and configured to have pick-up sensitivity in select directions. A comparator is configured to compare the detected audio signals to identify a highest amplitude signal. And a cue generator is configured to provide haptic feedback at a vehicle cabin location associated with the microphone detecting the highest amplitude signal.

System and method for sound direction detection in a vehicle

A vehicle seat includes cushion and a seatback coupled with the cushion. At least one of the seatback and the cushion includes a base body defining an internal cavity open on a side of the base portion and a secondary body slidably mounted with the base body so as to be extendible out of the internal cavity beyond the side of the base body and retractable at least partially within the cavity.

A closure assembly for a vehicle includes a closure hingedly connected to a vehicle-rearmost portion of a cargo area and adapted to pivot into a receiver provided in a portion of the cargo area. The receiver may be provided in a portion of a cargo area load floor or in a portion of a cargo area sidewall. The closure may include a bottom hinge and/or a side hinge, adapted to pivot the closure both vehicle-rearwardly and vehicle-forwardly. A cover may be provided to hide the closure in the stowed configuration.

A vehicle configured to automatically clear snow from windows of the vehicle includes: a prime mover, a first window with a first vibration sensor, processor(s) configured to: control speed or load of the prime mover to increase vibration detected by the first vibration sensor, control the speed or the load of the prime mover, within certain predetermined limits, to maximize vibration detected by the first vibration sensor; accept a user prioritization of the windows; control speed or load of the prime mover based on the user prioritization.

An example disclosed method includes determining a current and a projected water depth for road segments of and around a current route to a destination. Additionally, the example method includes, in response to the current or the projected water depth of the road segments of the current route exceeding a first threshold, determining an alternate route to the destination.
