A cooling system for a plurality of electrical components is described. The cooling system includes a blower to generate an air flow and a platform to mount the plurality of electrical components. The platform defines a plurality of passages. The cooling system further includes an arrangement including a plenum extending between the blower and the platform to direct the air flow towards and around the plurality of electrical components through the plurality of passages.

Two cooling fans acting on different heat exchangers may be driven via parallel circuits from a variable displacement hydraulic pump. At least one of the circuits includes a two position valve operable by a control system to vary the flow resistance of the circuit to share the flow between the two fan motors responsive to the relative heat load on the heat exchangers. The pump displacement is controlled to provide a constant hydraulic output pressure irrespective of the operational state of the or each valve assembly.

In one aspect, a thermal management system includes a first coolant circuit, through which a first coolant circulates, and including at least a radiator for cooling the first coolant, a storage containing one or more power electronics, a heat exchanger, and a thermostatic valve that outputs the first coolant to at least one of the storage containing the one or more power electronics and the heat exchanger. A second coolant circuit, through which a second coolant circulates, includes the heat exchanger configured to cool the second coolant using the first coolant, an energy storage unit cooled by the second coolant, and a refrigeration unit configured to cool the second coolant. A coolant temperature sensor outputs a temperature of the coolant in the second coolant circuit, and a controller controls at least the refrigeration unit based on the temperature of the coolant output by the coolant temperature sensor.

Liquid cooled thermal management system and related method of controlling the liquid cooled thermal management system

A distributed cooling system is disclosed. The system may include a first radiator to circulate a liquid coolant through the first radiator to cool the liquid coolant, a first fan, electrically connected to the first radiator, to facilitate cooling the liquid coolant, and a first temperature sensor to obtain first temperature data concerning the liquid coolant. The system may include a second radiator to circulate an oil through the second radiator to cool the oil, a second fan, electrically connected to the second radiator, to facilitate cooling the oil, and a second temperature sensor to obtain second temperature data concerning the oil. The system may include a heat exchanger to cool the liquid coolant and the oil and a controller, electrically connected to the first fan, the first temperature sensor, the second fan, and the second temperature sensor, to control the first fan and the second fan.

A system for obtaining purified water includes a heat exchanger fluidly coupled to the heat source for receiving a thermal management fluid from the heat source, and a reservoir fluidly coupled with the heat exchanger to supply water, at an ambient temperature, for receiving heat from the thermal management fluid at the heat exchanger. A pump provides a pre-defined flow rate of the water from the reservoir to the heat exchanger based on a temperature gradient of the thermal management fluid across the heat exchanger. A purification device has a cold side chamber in fluid communication with the pump and the heat exchanger while a hot side chamber is in fluid communication with the heat exchanger and the reservoir. The cold and hot side chambers of the purification device thermally co-operate with each other to develop condensate therebetween from moisture present in the ambient air for forming water.

A cooling assembly, for a service vehicle, includes a frame arranged to define an internal cavity, with the frame having six faces: a bottom face, a top face, and four side faces. The first face is configured to be mounted on the service vehicle. Three of the four side faces are each configured to have at least one cooler mounted thereon. A remaining one of the four side faces is positioned facing an engine of the service vehicle and has a barrier element to restrict drawing air through the remaining one of the four faces.

An enclosure for a generator includes an air inlet formed at a first end of the enclosure, and an air inlet opening formed in a sidewall of the enclosure. The air inlet includes an air inlet duct formed in an interior space of the enclosure, and in fluid communication with the air inlet opening. The air inlet duct receives the airflow from the air inlet opening to direct the airflow towards an air outlet of the enclosure. The air outlet includes an air outlet duct formed at a second end of the enclosure which receives the airflow from the air inlet opening. The air outlet duct directs the airflow towards an air outlet opening formed in a top plate of the enclosure which provides an exit for the airflow to escape from the interior space to an ambient environment of the enclosure.

An insulated reductant tank that is arranged so that it has an insulated upper portion and a tapered lower portion, the reductant tank configured to allow frozen reductant to move into the insulated upper portion and reduce the damage that frozen reductant can cause to a reductant tank when the frozen reductant expands. The insulated reductant tank can include at least one header configured to draw reductant from the reductant tank and supply the reductant to an exhaust aftertreatment system, an insulation layer lining an upper portion of the reductant tank, a tapered lower portion, and at least one baffle configured to control a flow of reductant.
