A sensor receiver may include a Rydberg cell configured to be exposed to a radio frequency (RF) signal having an RF data rate, and a probe source configured to generate a plurality of spaced apart pulsed probe beams within the Rydberg cell. Each pulse may have a temporal pulse width so that the RF data rate is greater than the reciprocal of the temporal pulse width. At least one excitation source may be coupled to the Rydberg cell. A detector may be positioned downstream from the Rydberg cell. The sensor receiver may be used in a RADAR system.

Systems and methods for operating an antenna assembly. The methods comprise: receiving a first command for tuning the antenna assembly to a first frequency selected from a plurality of different frequencies to which a strip antenna of the antenna assembly is tunable; selectively connecting ground to the strip antenna at a first location along an elongated length of the strip antenna; and connecting a transceiver to the strip antenna at a second location along the elongated length of the strip antenna using a first tank circuit of a plurality of tank circuits provided with the antenna assembly. The tank circuits are respectively associated with the different frequencies to which the strip antenna is tunable. The first tank circuit is associated with the first frequency to which the strip antenna is to be tuned.

A radio frequency (RF) system may include an RF transceiver and a baseband engine, application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) coupled to the RF transceiver and configured to perform a given baseband engine operation from among different baseband engine operations. The baseband engine ASIC may include a memory and a state machine coupled thereto and configured to store a respective set of programming instructions for each of different baseband engine operations and to permit selection of the given set of programming instructions. The baseband engine may also include a programmable processing circuit coupled to the memory and the state machine and configured to perform block coding computations responsive to the given set of programming instructions.
