A generic mobile synchronization framework facilitates synchronization of data objects between platforms by comparing these data objects from one platform with a replica of data objects on the other platform. Generic messages identifying the differences in the data objects are converted into an adapted message suitable for use by the underlying synchronization hardware and sent to the platform needing synchronization. That platform converts adapted message to the corresponding original generic messages, and executes them, synchronizing the data objects in that platform with the originating platform.

System and method for a generic mobile synchronization framework

Control techniques support low latency display operations on thin client devices. In response to a request to render a page in a user interface, the control may distinguish fields that likely have immediately displayable content from fields that are unlikely to have immediately displayable content. The control may retrieve data for those fields that are likely to have immediately displayable content and render them in an initial page. Content for the fields that are unlikely to have immediately displayable content may be generated as a background process and may be rendered in supplemental page(s) as they become available. The control permits quick rendering of basic pages, which may include navigation functionality, and therefore promote early navigation operations or quick review of data which can be made immediately available.

Low latency display methods for thin client devices

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for automatically creating an offline enterprise application from an online enterprise application by importing the data from the online enterprise application to an offline system, including importing user interface (UI) metadata, enterprise services repository (ESR) data and application data from the online enterprise application and generating the UI and enterprise services from the imported UI metadata and ESR data respectively. The created offline enterprise application switches automatically between offline mode and online mode.

A system for generating software applications for a plurality of heterogeneous computing devices. Each computing device has different capabilities. The system outputs device-specific versions of a software application each tailored to the capabilities of the associated computing device in response to receiving device-independent modeling information characterizing the software application. The system includes a framework, a plurality of object types, a modeling tool, and a plurality of device-specific code generators. The framework defines common services on the computing devices. Each object type has a functional relationship to the common services provided by the framework. The modeling tool defines instances of the plurality of object types based on modeling information received as input, outputting a metadata structure describing the behavior and functionality of a software application. From the metadata, the code generators generate device-specific application code tailored to the capabilities of the associated devices.
