A method for operating a gas scrubber is disclosed in which components are removed from a crude gas by scrubbing with a chemical or physical scrubbing medium to obtain a pure gas present at elevated pressure which, after heating, is introduced into an expansion machine which after work-performing decompression the pure gas leaves at an exit temperature. The amount of heat supplied to the pure gas during heating thereof is deliberately altered to approximate the exit temperature thereof to a predetermined target value at all times.

Use of expansion machines in gas scrubbers

Method and device for sour gas scrubbing

A method and a device for separating off an electrolyte from a first synthesis gas and a second synthesis gas, each containing an electrolyte. The two synthesis gases are each subjected in a scrubbing column to a water scrubbing, in which a substantially electrolyte-free synthesis gas and also a scrubbing water loaded with an electrolyte that has been separated off are obtained. At least a part of the scrubbing water that was loaded with an electrolyte that has been separated off in the scrubbing of the first synthesis gas is used as scrubbing medium in the scrubbing of the second synthesis gas.

The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for separating metal carbonyls from a gas mixture () by gas scrubbing with a physically acting scrubbing medium (), where scrubbing medium () loaded with metal carbonyls in the scrub (W) is regenerated and is subsequently reused for separating off metal carbonyls. Process and apparatus for separating metal carbonyls from gas mixtures

The invention relates to a process and apparatus for recovering sulfur (). In a sour gas scrubbing apparatus (S) comprises a scrubbing part (SP) and a regeneration part (RP), wherein sulfur components and carbon dioxide are selectively removed from a crude synthesis gas () with the aid of a circulating scrubbing agent (). A sulfur-containing gas fraction () produced during the regeneration of loaded scrubbing agent is supplied to a sulfur recovery system (SR) in which an off-gas () comprising carbon dioxide and also sulfur components is formed. The off-gas is hydrogenated (H) and subsequently subjected to a gas scrubbing operation (Z). The hydrogenated off-gas () is scrubbed, independently of the crude synthesis gas (), and scrubbing agent () removed from the scrubbing agent circuit of the sour gas scrubbing apparatus (S) is used to scrub out sulfur components from the hydrogenated off-gas ().

Process and apparatus for treating a sulphur-containing off-gas from a sulphur recovery system

The invention relates to a process for purifying crude synthesis gas () containing metal carbonyls, in which undesirable substances such as sulphur components and/or carbon dioxide (CO) and/or hydrocyanic acid (HCN) are scrubbed out by scrubbing with a physically acting scrubbing medium in at least one process step (main scrub (H)), and also an apparatus for carrying out the process. The crude synthesis gas () before introduction into the main scrub (H) is subjected to a gas scrub (carbonyl scrub (C)) in which a partial amount () of the laden scrubbing medium () taken off from the main scrub is used as scrubbing medium, with the partial amount () being chosen so that the metal carbonyls are (selectively) separated off from the crude synthesis gas () in the carbonyl scrub (C) largely independently of the other gas components.
