Vacuum cleaners and methods of controlling a motor driven by a battery source in a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner has a motor, a battery source for providing power to the motor, a voltage measuring unit for measuring a voltage over the motor, and a current measuring unit for measuring a current flowing through the motor. Further, the vacuum cleaner comprises a control unit for controlling, based on the measured voltage and/or the measured current, the power provided to the motor from the battery source to attain a target motor power value during a specified time period running from start-up of the motor, and to gradually decrease the power provided to the motor after the time period ends.

Vacuum cleaners and methods of controlling a motor driven by a battery source in a vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner comprising an electric motor, an impeller and an axial diffuser arranged on a common axis is provided. The impeller is connected to the electric motor and is arranged for rotation on the common axis to achieve a radial air flow. The radial air flow is redirected into an axial air flow. The diffuser passages are arranged between an inner circumferential wall and an outer circumferential wall, wherein the walls are coaxially arranged around the common axis. Each diffuser passage is delimited in a circumferential direction between the walls by vanes extending between the inner wall and the outer wall and in an axial direction extending substantially in parallel with the common axis. The vanes are arranged in at least two rows being consecutively arranged in the axial direction extending substantially in parallel with the common axis.

Vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner and a method for controlling the motor power of a vacuum cleaner are disclosed. The vacuum cleaner comprises an electric motor and an electric power supply for providing electric power to the electric motor. Furthermore, a voltage measuring means for measuring a motor voltage over the electric motor and a current measuring means for measuring a motor current flowing through the electric motor are provided. The vacuum cleaner further comprises a control means for controlling, based on the measured voltage and the measured current, the electric power provided to the electric motor from the electric power supply towards a target motor power value.

Vacuum cleaner and method for controlling an electric motor

A filter unit () for a vacuum cleaner includes a filter body () and a dust removing means (). The filter body is elongated and at least partly flexible and the dust removing means is configured to collapse and expand the filter body in response to a force applied on the dust removing means. The filter body comprises pleats () extending along the filter body. The filter unit of the present invention is advantageous in that it reduces clogging and thereby increases the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner.

A vacuum cleaner having a base with an inlet facing a surface, a handle connected to the base, an air passage connecting the base inlet to the handle, and a removable handheld unit. The handheld has an inlet nozzle, a dirt separator, a vacuum fan to generate a working airflow into the inlet nozzle and through the dirt separator, and a housing joining the handheld, the dirt separator and the vacuum fan. The vacuum has a docking latch with a first latch position in which the latch holds the handheld in an operating position on the handle, and a second position in which the latch permits removal of the handheld from the operating position. The vacuum also has a safety catch with a catch member on the handle and a second member on the handheld. The catch members resiliently hold the handheld unit on the handle in a partially-removed position.

A vacuum cleaner having an elongated support body, a nozzle attached to a lower end of the elongated support body by an articulated joint, a motor, a fan unit, a debris container, and an air passage that extends from the nozzle device, past the articulated joint by a flexible hose and to an air passage in the support body. The flexible hose is formed with a generally rectangular cross section.

Dirt separator system for a vacuum cleaner

A carrier, such as an autonomous cleaning apparatus, has a self-adjusting wheel assembly that can move vertically, thereby enabling the carrier to readily pass over a surface. The wheel assembly may include microswitch, which activates a control mechanism for the carrier when a wheel assembly is in a predetermined position along its path of vertical movement. Rollers can be located at the bottom of the carrier to function in cooperation with the wheel assemblies so as to facilitate the ability of the carrier to pass over obstacles. This ability may be enhanced by constructing the bottom of the front portion of the carrier so that it is slanted or inclined upwardly in a direction outward from the bottom of the carrier. A driving wheel may be rotatably attached to a wheel support, and which may also support a power source and a transmission.
