A sensor system for determining at least one parameter of a fluid medium flowing through a channel, in particular of an intake air mass flow of an internal combustion engine. The sensor system includes a sensor housing, in particular a plug-in sensor, which is introduced or introducible into a flow tube in which the channel is formed, and at least one sensor chip, which is situated in the channel for determining the parameter of the fluid medium. The sensor housing includes a housing body and a cover. The channel has an inlet into the channel, which faces in a direction opposite the main flow direction of the fluid medium, and at least one outlet out of the channel. The channel is formed in the cover, and the cover is connected to the housing body with the aid of a force-locked connection.

Sensor system for determining at least one parameter of a fluid medium flowing through a channel

A sensor arrangement is described for determining at least one parameter of a fluid medium flowing through a measuring channel, particularly of an intake air mass flow of an internal combustion engine. The sensor arrangement includes a sensor housing, in particular a plug-in sensor which is introduced or may be introduced into a flow tube and in which the measuring channel is formed, and at least one sensor chip which is situated in the measuring channel for determining the parameter of the fluid medium. The sensor chip is attached to a sensor carrier protruding into the measuring channel. The sensor carrier is designed in such a way that it has a chord. The chord has a length of 4.5 mm to 6.5 mm. In a preferred refinement, the sensor carrier is shaped like a double ellipse or a diving board.

Sensor arrangement for determining at least one parameter of a fluid medium flowing through a measuring channel

A sensor system for determining at least one parameter of a fluid medium flowing through a channel structure. The sensor system has a sensor housing, particularly a plug-in sensor that is inserted or insertable into a flow pipe and in which the channel structure is formed. The sensor housing has a housing body and a cover. The channel structure has a main channel and a measuring channel. At least one sensor chip determining the parameter of the fluid medium is disposed in the measuring channel. The sensor housing has an inlet into the channel structure, the inlet pointing counter to a main flow direction of the fluid medium, at least one main-channel outlet from the main channel and at least one measuring-channel outlet from the measuring channel. The main-channel outlet is disposed on an end face or on a downstream side of the cover based on the main flow direction.

Sensor system for determining at least one parameter of a fluid medium flowing through a channel structure

A sensor device for detecting a property of a fluid medium flowing in a channel includes: (a) a channel piece through which a fluid medium is able to flow, the channel piece having (i) an inlet; (ii) an outlet; (iii) a channel piece wall including an inner wall, an outer side connecting the inlet and the outlet, and an insertion opening; and (iv) areas having electrical conductivity; (b) at least one sensor having a sensor housing and a sensor element situated in the sensor housing, the sensor housing being insertable through the insertion opening in the channel piece wall into the channel piece. The entire channel piece wall of the channel piece is completely made of electrically conductive plastic, the channel piece wall being at fixed electrical potentials.

Sensor device for detecting at least one property of a fluid medium flowing in a channel

A sensor system for determining a moisture content of a fluid medium flowing in a main flow direction, e.g., an intake air of an internal combustion engine, includes: a sensor housing; at least one moisture sensor situated in the sensor housing for determining the moisture content of the fluid medium; at least one retaining element at least partially permeable to moisture; an inlet opening for channeling moisture into the sensor housing and to the moisture sensor; and at least one outlet opening situated separately from the inlet opening and channeling moisture from the sensor housing into the flowing fluid medium. The retaining element is situated in the sensor housing in such a way that the moisture sensor is acted upon by the moisture via the inlet opening and the retaining element.

The fluid medium flows out through the outlet opening after flowing through the channel. The sensor housing has at least one housing body and at least one cover. The outlet opening is situated in the cover. The housing body has at least one collar section, which engages with the outlet opening and which forms at least one part of an edge of the outlet opening.

A flow separating element is mounted upstream from the measuring surface with respect to the main flow direction. To determine air mass flows, especially for controlling internal combustion engines, a hot-film air-mass sensor is provided, which may be used especially for sensing air mass flows in the intake tract of an internal combustion engine. The hot-film air-mass sensor has a sensor chip having a sensor frame and a sensor diaphragm having at least one heating element and at least two temperature sensors. Furthermore, the hot-film air-mass sensor has a chip carrier for mounting the sensor chip, as well as at least one additional heating element. The sensor chip is able to be heated up using the at least one additional heating element, which is inserted into the chip carrier. Compared to the usual devices, the hot-film air-mass sensor has a lower susceptibility to contamination, especially by oil films.

Heated hot-film air-mass sensor

A method for measuring an air mass flow flowing in a main flow direction, and a hot-film air mass meter by which the method is able to be realized. The method and the hot-film air mass meter are especially suitable for use in the induction tract of an internal combustion engine. The hot-film air mass meter includes a sensor chip having a chip surface across which an air mass flow is able to flow. The chip surface in turn has a measuring surface, the measuring surface including a central hot-film air mass meter circuit having at least one central heating element and at least two temperature sensors. The method is implemented so that the at least one central heating element is periodically heated using a frequency &#x3c9;. With the aid of at least two temperature sensors, at least two measuring signals are detected. The measuring signals and/or at least one differential signal of the at least two measuring signals are modulated using the frequency &#x3c9;.
