In a vehicle brake comprising a housing, a brake piston, which is accommodated in the housing and on which a brake lining is fitted, and a blocking device, it is provided that the brake piston is displaceable in the housing by means of an actuating device and that the brake piston is securable relative to the housing by means of the blocking device. In this vehicle brake, it is further provided that the blocking device comprises an electromechanical latching arrangement, which is actuable in such a way that in a latching position it prevents a displacement of the brake piston inside the housing and in a release position it enables a movement of the brake piston in the housing.

Vehicle brake and method for actuating a vehicle brake

A brake booster (10) for a vehicle brake system comprises a housing (12) which is divided, by means of at least one movable wall (14), into a vacuum chamber (18) and a working chamber (16). A control valve arrangement (20), which is associated to the brake booster (10) and which optionally connects the working chamber (16) to atmospheric pressure or to a vacuum, comprises a control valve housing (21) which is connected to the movable wall (14) for joint relative movement with respect to the housing (12). An electromagnetic actuation unit (26) is received in the control valve housing (21), said actuation unit having a solenoid coil (44), a magnet armature (28) operating against the spring bias and which is rigidly coupled to a first valve seat (32) of the control valve arrangement (20), and an armature counter-element (46). For improving the magnetic flux in the electromagnetic actuation unit (26) while simultaneously reducing the number of parts, an insert (92) made of diamagnetic and preferably lightweight. material extends through the armature counter-element (46), said insert (92) forming a guide (94) for an actuating piston (64) and protruding somewhat out of the armature counter-element (46) in the direction of the magnet armature (28).

Brake booster with electromagnetic actuation unit

A vehicle brake system with an electronically controllable brake booster, comprising an actuation member (70, 80) transferring the actuation travel of a brake pedal to a master cylinder, which is allocated a travel limiting element (82) accepted between two abutment faces which limits the actuation travel of the actuation member (70), and a switching element (85) which upon an actuation movement of the actuation member (70) can be activated by one of the abutments (91, 91a) in order to issue a signal to the controller of the brake booster, with the travel limiting element being arranged on the actuation member (80) between two collars (83, 84), and a carrier (86) accepting the switching element (85) being arranged between the travel limiting element and one of the collars.

Vehicle brake system with an electronically controllable brake booster

A brake pad (34) has a rear surface (46) for support on an actuating member (32,64) of a disc brake and a braking surface (56) constituted by friction material (38). At least one hole (48) is arranged in the brake pad (34) at right angles with respect to the rear surface (46) to guide the brake pad (34) on a guide pin (60). A protective sleeve (54) for the guide pin (60) extends coaxially with the hole (48) in a direction towards the plane of the braking surface (56). The protective sleeve (54) is made of a material which wears down together with the friction material (38) and it is embedded, at least for part of its length, in the friction material (38).

Brake pad for a disc brake

A strut (40), whose effective length depends on the relative positions of two strut portions (42,44) adjustable with respect to each other is connected in parallel with a brake actuating mechanism (18). One strut portion (44) has at least one part adjustable transversely of the longitudinal direction of the strut (40) and upon actuation of the brake tends to increase the length of the strut (40). This strut portion (44) has an operable connection with an intermediate member (24) which is supported on one of two structural members (128, 136) transmitting the actuating force independently of the strut (40) for rotation around the axis (B) of the brake actuating device (18) and is rotatable against the frictional resistance thereof only as long as this does not surpass a given value. In this way, the strut (40) is prevented from unnecessary or over-adjustment upon particularly forceful actuation of the brake.
