A metering device for a hot chamber die-casting machine includes a casting container attachable to a crucible of the hot chamber die-casting machine, a riser channel in a riser channel area, and a casting piston unit for metered conveying of melt out of the crucible via the riser channel. A heating device is provided with a flameless heating unit for active heating of at least a part of the riser channel area. The heating unit is placed inside a piston rod leadthrough bore, electrically insulated from the riser channel in a riser bore containing the riser channel, or in a heater receiving space specially provided in the casting container.

Heatable metering device for a hot chamber die-casting machine

A protective gas device for the melting furnaces of pressure die-casting machines, in particular for processing a magnesium melt. A collection container of a mixing device for the components of a protective gas, which covers the melt to prevent oxidation or other damage, is configured as a pressure accumulator and the orifices for feeding the protective gas into the melting furnace are provided with inlet nozzles. Gas flow to the inlet nozzles is regulated by metering devices. The operating pressure is equal to or less than the pressure in the pressure accumulator of the mixing device, but high enough to atomise the jets and produce a turbulent inflow behind the inlet nozzles. Said pressurized protective-gas distribution permits the metering of gas into various furnace chambers or furnaces without repercussions. A uniform concentration of the protective gas can be achieved in all areas by the selective arrangement of the inlet nozzles.

Hot-chamber diecasting machines for processing magnesium melts include a casting vessel, an inductive heating system, and an additional ring inductor in an area of the neck of the casting vessel in order to achieve a heating also in this area. The ring inductor is formed of a one-piece tube made of an elastic material which is open at one point and can be bent open by the extent of the diameter of the neck of the casting vessel and can be pushed laterally onto the casting vessel, and through which air can also flow for the cooling.

In a hot chamber die-casting machine, inductively-operating heating devices are associated with the mouthpiece area of the casting container and the nozzle. All of these heating devices are operated with medium frequency. The inductors are cooled with air. The machine is useful for hot chamber die-casting machines that process magnesium.
