An impact absorption assembly for a seat back is provided having a deformation zone as least partially disposed above a top surface of a seat back structure. The deformation zone deforms plastically upon an impact from a rearward direction.

A seat assembly is provided with a foam cushion and a fabric portion connected to a B-surface opposite a seat surface of the foam cushion. At least one pocket cavity is defined between the fabric portion and the foam cushion. A pneumatic support assembly is contained in the at least one pocket cavity.

Previously known are headrests for the backrest of a seat of a motor vehicle, in particular for rear seats, which include a support mechanism which is attachable to a top edge of the backrest of a seat. A support element is provided which comprises an upholstered front surface to support a head and which is attachable to the support mechanism. Headrests of this type obstruct the view through the rear window and interfere when folding down the backrest of a seat. It is proposed to attach the support element so as to be movable around an axis of rotation from an operational position into a storage position. In the operational position, the support element is with its front surface substantially upwardly oriented, thus extending the backrest of a seat and projecting upwards from the backrest of the seat. In its storage position, the support element rests on the backrest of a seat and is aligned substantially horizontal with the front surface or parallel to the top edge of the backrest of a seat whilst seated on the backrest of the seat.

Foldable head rest

A reversible back for a bench seat is disclosed, in particular a back for the rear seat of a vehicle, such that parts of the back can be folded down into a flat transport position and returned to an upright seat position individually and independently of one another. A middle seat-back part (10) is provided, which can selectively be folded down either together with one or both of the laterally adjacent, outer seat-back parts (12, 14) or by itself, independently of the two outer seat-back parts (12, 14), as desired. The middle seat-back part (10) can be locked to each of the two outer parts (12, 14) individually. A central actuating mechanism (20) is provided in the middle seat-back part (10) so that the locking mechanisms (16, 18) on the two sides thereof can be jointly and simultaneously disengaged or engaged.
