The invention relates to a polyamide moulding compound consisting of an amorphous, microcrystalline or partially crystalline polyamide or mixtures hereof, at least one impact modifier, hollow glass balls and also further additives. The invention likewise relates to moulded articles produced from this polyamide moulding compound.

Polyamide moulding compound and moulded articles producible therefrom

Disclosed is an impact-resistant modified polyamide molding compound which is suitable in particular for the production of containers having a good oxygen barrier and low-temperature impact strength. Also disclosed are containers which are produced from the thermoplastic polyamide molding compound. In particular, storage or transport containers for industrial chemicals, agrochemicals, the cosmetic industry, pharmaceutical industry or foodstuffs industry can be produced from the polyamide molding compound of the invention.

Impact-resistant modified polyamide moulding compound and container formed therefrom

The invention relates to a method for the production of polyamide nanocomposites made from base polymers comprising aromatic components and organically-modified phyllosilicates in a double-screw extruder with a front-feeder and a side-feeder. Said method is characterised in that a portion (A) from 8 to 15 wt. % of a granulate of the base polymer is introduced in the front-feeder of the double-screw extruder and the main portion (B) of said granulate of the base polymer is introduced by means of the side feeder of the double-screw extruder and that 2 to 8 wt. % of the modified phyllosilicate is introduced into the melt of the granulate portion (A) of the base polymer, whereby the wt. % proportions relate to the finished polyamide nanocomposite. According to the invention, packaging materials with high UV absorption and improved gas and aroma barrier effect can be produced by said method. Furthermore, the corresponding packagings the use thereof and moulded bodies produced by means of said method are disclosed.

A method is disclosed for producing a polyamide molding compound which includes the following method steps: addition and dissolving of m-xylylene diamine and dicarboxylic acids, which include adipic acid and aromatic dicarboxylic acids, with water and additives in a dissolving chamber and production of a mixture, the sum of the aromatic dicarboxylic acids added being 2 mol-percent to 15 mol-percent (in relation to the addition of dicarboxylic acids); transfer of the mixture into a reaction vessel and polycondensation of the mixture in this reaction vessel; granulation of the polycondensate; drying of the granulate. This method is distinguished in that the polycondensation is performed at a pressure of at most 10 bar and a temperature of 255&#xb0; C. to 270&#xb0; C., the pressure being built up while heating the reaction vessel to 255&#xb0; C. to 270&#xb0; C. and&#x2014;immediately after the mixture has reached the maximum temperature&#x2014;being reduced to atmospheric conditions while maintaining a temperature of 255&#xb0; C. to 270&#xb0; C., and the polycondensation being continued at this temperature and a pressure of less than 800 millibar; and the granulate is subjected to an underwater crystallization before drying.

The invention relates to a barrier layer resisting the transmission of oxygen for multi-layer barrier film characterized in that it is made of a transparent copolyamide comprising three components. The first component is hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid. The second component is hexamethylenediamine and azelaic acid, hexamethylenediamine and sebacic acid, and mixtures thereof. The third component is hexamethylene-diamine and isophthalic acid, hexamethylenediamine and terephthalic acid, and mixtures thereof. The total of all components is 100 mol %, and the ratio of the barrier effects in the barrier layer with respect to carbon dioxide and oxygen is at least 3:1.

Transparent polyamide and multi-ply barrier films containing same

A polyamide-containing polymer mixture having a melt viscosity of 1,000 to 1,400 Pa.multidot.s (at 270.degree. C. and under a load of 122.6 N) and includes the following components: (A) 50 to 75 parts by weight of polyamide 6, polyamide 6,6, polyamide 12 or mixtures thereof; (B) 15 to 30 parts by weight of a polyolefin having a density of 0.921 to 0.96 g/cm.sup.3 onto which an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative has been grafted, the degree of grafting being between 0.01 and 1 weight percent, with respect to the total weigh of grafted and ungrafted polyolefin; (C) 10 to 20 parts by weight of a grafted polyolefin elastomer including at least ethylene and propylene units; (D) Additives selected from the group including stabilizers, anti-friction agents and fillers, with the sum of the parts by weight of components (A) to (D) being 100, and the mixture being produced by mixing components (A), (B) and (D) or (A), (B), (C) and (D) and extruding them at 150 to 300 rpm. The invention further relates to a shaped object that can be produced by means of injection molding, extruding, coextruding, blow molding or reshaping with the use of said polymer mixture having components (A) through (D).
