A transmission assembly for an agricultural vehicle comprises a first transmission unit, a second transmission unit coupled to the first and a third transmission unit coupled to the second. The second transmission unit comprises an input shaft, an output shaft and two countershafts, the input shaft drives the countershafts and the countershafts drive the output shaft. The third transmission unit comprises an input shaft, which is drivingly coupled to an output shaft located in parallel thereto. The first transmission unit comprising a planetary drive and a sun gear of the first transmission unit, the input shaft and the output shaft of the second transmission unit, and the input shaft of the third transmission unit are located coaxial to each other, wherein an output of the first transmission unit is connected to the input shaft of the second transmission unit and the output shaft of the second transmission unit is connected to the input shaft of the third transmission unit.

Gear assembly

A power shift transmission has an input shaft, a first output shaft coaxial to the input shaft, a planetary transmission with a planet carrier, which is connected to the input shaft, and at least three shift elements. To minimize drag from open shift elements and to optimize shift times of a connectable synchromesh transmission, the planetary transmission has at least two stepped planetary sets, which may be mounted on a common planet carrier. Each stepped planetary set meshes on input and output sides with at least one sun gear. The first output shaft is connected to an output side sun associated with one stepped planetary set by a first shift element, the first output shaft is connected to an output side sun associated with another stepped planetary set by a second shift element, and input side sun gears are blocked relative to the transmission housing by a third shift element.

Power shift transmission

The invention relates to a power shift transmission (). The power shift transmission comprises an input shaft (), a first output shaft () arranged coaxially to the input shaft (), a planetary transmission () having a planet gear carrier (), which is connected to the input shaft (), and at least one dual-stage planetary gear set (), the dual-stage planetary gear set () engaging on the input side with an input-side sun gear () and on the output side with an output-side sun gear () in each case, and at least two shift elements (). To produce a variable power shift transmission for several pairings of various operation modes, the first output shaft () can be connected to the output-side sun gear () of the dual-stage planetary gear set () by means of a first shift element () and the first output shaft () can be directly connected to the input shaft () by means of a second shift element (), the input-side sun gear () of the dual-stage planetary gear set () being non-non-rotatably connected to a housing () of the power shift transmission ().

In a hydro-mechanical transmission having a hydrostatic unit and a mechanical gear train, the hydrostatic unit is resiliently mounted in the transmission housing to reduce the transmission of noise and vibration to the housing. Movement of the hydrostatic unit is facilitated by mounting the planetary carrier on a ball bearing instead of taper roller bearings. The ball bearing allows the carrier limited movement transverse to the axis of rotation of the carrier. To further reduce wear of the gear faces, one or more of the meshing gears at the point of relative movement have crowned gear faces rather than straight gear faces. This avoids a single line of contact of the meshing teeth at the tooth edge.

Hydro mechanical transmission planetary carrier support system

A hydro-mechanical transmission having a planetary system with three planetary gear sets including a reversing planetary gear set together with two clutches and a reverse brake to provide an infinitely adjustable speed change over the speed range from &minus;20 kph to 60 kph without an additional direction change gear set. The transmission has two forward speed ranges and one reverse speed range. The planetary system has fixed mechanical and hydrostatic power input elements and a fixed output element. The low and high range clutches and the reverse brake direct power flow through the transmission along different paths to produce the different gear ratios. Transmission efficiency is maximized at the field use speed and the transport road speed where an agricultural tractor is most often operated.
