The invention relates to double trimming shears having a stationary bottom knife and a driven top knife which can be raised and lowered, wherein the top knife is arranged on a top knife carriage () guided by means of a carriage guide (), wherein a first eccentric shaft () and a second eccentric shaft () on the carriage guide () is provided in order to guide the carriage guide () if an inclined position of the top knife carriage is to be prevented. This is achieved in that the first eccentric shaft () and the second eccentric shaft () are interconnected via a synchronization means ().

Double trimming shears

With known trimming shears having a pair of scrap-cutting blades on the discharge side, the moving upper scrap-cutting blade must be moved as closely as possible past the trimmed plate edge in order to push the cutoff edge still hanging on the plate downward against the lower fixed scrap-cutting blade, which requires precise adjustment of the upper scrap-cutting blade. To that end, according to the invention, the distance between the upper scrap-cutting blade () or the lower scrap-cutting blade () and the trimming blade plane () is set prior to trimming in accordance with the thickness of each heavy plate () to be trimmed by displacement of the upper scrap-cutting blade () and/or the lower scrap-cutting blade () in a displacement direction with at least one component transverse to the trimming blade plane ().

Method and device for trimming heavy plates

A hold-down device for plate shears configured to, be pressed down onto a plate to be cut by a mechanically controlled, non-variable displacement. A hold-down device, which can be altered in terms of the pressing force and consequently permits a longer edge life and shorter displacements, and in turn lower indexing times. The starting position of the hold-down device is set before the beginning of the displacement.

In an upsetting press for reducing the width of rolling stock, particularly for reducing the slab width in hot-rolled wide strip roughing mills with tool carriers, which are disposed on either side of the slab edge and accommodate pressing tools, in order to improve the pressing process, the upsetting press has, in the region between the pressing tools, at least one height-adjustable retaining roll above and at least one below the slab, that driver rolls are disposed in the inlet and outlet regions of the upsetting press above and below the slab and the retaining rolls and driver rolls are provided with internal cooling.
