The invention relates to a brake pistonfor a brake caliperof a disk brake, which is produced using working processes from a metallic material, in particular from a flat metal sheet, and is formed in one piece as a unilaterally open pot with a piston longitudinal axis A, with a piston walland with a piston head. There is a need for robust and light as well as alternatively constructed, efficiently producible and well guided brake pistons. Cold-worked brake piston

A pot-shaped, cold-formed steel brake piston as a pot which is open on one side includes a base and a wall including inner and outer walls, a radially inwardly configured groove is open in a radially outward direction and forms, radially at the inside, a groove bead projection.
