In a double clutch transmission, especially for a motor vehicle, it is necessary for the completely satisfactory shifting sequence to engage and disengage the clutches alternately; in order that such a sequence is assured, differential pressure switches are provided which include a signalling device that indicates end positions of the clutches to an electronic control installation for evaluation purposes.

Switch mechanism for sequential action of a double clutch mechanism

A shift rod position indicator system for an automotive vehicle transmission includes a plurality of position sensors fixed to the housing of the transmission and actuating means moved by shift rods in proximity to the sensors which generate an electrical signal according to the displacement of the shift rod during the shifting operation, the electrical signal corresponding with initial and full engagement of the gear, the signal being maintained over the extent of gear engagement to provide an electronic control circuit with information so as to permit the synchronized operation of clutches to effect a semi-automatic gear change.

An electronic current overload protection device in which an applied voltage is divided into the voltage across the load and the current-proportional voltage drop at an MOS transistor of a circuit that includes the load and the MOS transistor whose resistance is exactly linearly proportional to the current; this voltage drop is applied by way of a delay circuit to a threshold switch that controls the gate input of the MOS transistor by way of a driver stage; the threshold of the threshold circuit is adjustable corresponding to the current to be protected against.

Electronic current overload protection installation

Turbocharging apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided which includes an exhaust gas driven turbocharger with an exhaust gas line leading to an exhaust turbine thereof to drive the same. In order to control the supply of exhaust gases to the exhaust turbine, a control valve is provided between the exhaust line and atmosphere for selectively venting a portion of the exhaust gases. The position of the control valve is in turn governed by a movable diaphragm communicated with charging air pressure by way of a regulating device, which regulating device is responsive to both the charging air pressure and the temperature of the cylinder head of the engine, to precisely control the turbocharger. In one preferred embodiment, the temperature responsive control includes a servomotor arranged in a circuit with a temperature dependent resistance, a difference-amplifier, and a potentiometer, which servomotor controls valving apparatus communicating charging air pressure to the control valve at the exhaust line. In another preferred embodiment, a temperature dependent resistance is provided which is connected with an electronic stepped circuit control device for controlling the supply of charging air pressure to chambers of a control device for the valve in the exhaust line.
