A thermal imaging system is provided. The thermal imaging system includes an explosion-proof housing with an optical window configured to contain an explosive pressure. The optical window allows electromagnetic thermal energy to pass. A thermal imaging sensor is disposed within the explosion-proof housing. Thermal imaging electronics are coupled to the thermal imaging sensor and configured to provide at least one thermal image based on a signal from the thermal imaging sensor. A lens assembly is disposed at least in front of the optical window external to the explosion-proof housing. A composite optical window for thermal imaging is also provided. In another embodiment, a thermal imaging system includes an explosion-proof housing having an optical window configured to contain an explosive pressure. An infrared (IR) camera is disposed within the explosion-proof housing. A reflector reflects electromagnetic thermal energy to the IR camera, but prevent an object from impacting the optical window.

Explosion-proof thermal imaging system

A sighting device is provided which is used to produce an optically perceptible target marking on an object. The sighting device includes one or more light sources for providing at least two sighting rays. A precision target marking is produced in such a manner that each of the sighting rays is directed onto a respective optical component enabling both of the sighting rays to be split on a respective illumination plane in such a manner that at least two illumination planes intersect at an angle. The point of intersection forms the target marking. A measuring, working and/or operating device is optionally provided which can be used with or without contact and which interacts with an object of any type at a predetermined target location. The target location can be detected by means of the inventive sighting device.

Sighting device and additional device for measuring, working, and/or operating with or without contact

A device for measuring the temperature of a measured spot of a measured object without contacting the measured object is provided. The device includes a detector on which electromagnetic radiation emanating from the measured spot is projected by an optical imaging system. A sighting device for marking the position and/or the size of the measured spot includes at least two light sources. Each of the two light sources provides a respective sighting ray.

Device for contact-free measurement of temperature

Device for contactless temperature measurement of an object with an optical system which images into the finite and a detector, wherein an image of the detector is imaged by the optical system along an optical axis onto a measurement spot on the object in such a way that the image of the detector reduces from the optical system to a sharp point measurement spot and then enlarges, and also with a sighting arrangement which identifies the outer limit of the measurement spot by means of visible sighting rays. Each sighting ray is aligned obliquely with respect to the optical axis in such a way that each sighting ray can be used both before and also after the sharp point measurement spot to identify the measurement spot.

Device for measuring temperature without contact

A pyrometer for measuring the electromagnetic radiation emitted by an object comprises a first detector to which the radiation is delivered through an optical system as well as a second detector to which the radiation emanating from a reference element is delivered through the same optical system. The temperature of the reference element is monitored and a rotary optical modulator periodically enables and disables the delivery of radiation to the detectors. The output signals from the two detectors are processed to determine the difference therebetween. The sensed temperature of the reference element is taken into account as a part of determining the difference between the two detector output signals. In this way it is possible for the characteristic radiation of the optical system largely to be suppressed. The optical modulator comprises a semi-circular disk having a polyethylene terephthalate substrate coated on each side with metal. The disk is rotated through 180.degree. increments by a stepping motor such that, in one angular position, the disk permits reception by the two detectors of radiation from the optical system and, in the other angular position, the disk prevents reception by the detectors of radiation from the optical system.
