An airbag module comprises a gas generator, a gas bag, and a gas guiding device which is connected to the gas bag and the gas generator. The gas guiding device comprises at least one outflow opening, through which the gas of the gas generator in the gas bag is guided. The airbag module will not be damaged or only slightly damaged if the airbag module is externally heated, for example, in a fire. The airbag module is configured such that if the gas generator is undesirably released, if the generator is externally heated, the airbag module is thrust-neutral.

Airbag module

An airbag for a passenger protection device affords optimum protection to a passenger while being produced using only a small amount of material and, therefore, in an economical manner. This is achieved by providing the airbag with at least two partial airbags that are fluidically connected to each other. At least one tensioning device draws the at least two partial airbags towards each other, thereby tensioning them together.

An occupant protection device for motor vehicles, having an unfoldable protection element which, when unfolded, forms a curtain for the protection of vehicle occupants, in particular in the head/chest region. A tensioning strap is provided which, when the protection element is unfolded, is tensioned between a first vehicle point and a second vehicle point and in the process forms an obstacle against which the unfolded protection element is supported by means of its outwardly directed rear side.

Occupant protection device for motor vehicles

A vehicle occupant safety device for protecting the neck and nape area of an occupant of a vehicle. The device includes a main airbag for bending the head of the occupant, and at least one secondary airbag in fluid communication with the main airbag. The secondary airbag and the main airbag being connected to one another so that the second airbag fills with gas first. The secondary airbag being configured to fill with gas and deploy to position the main airbag before inflation of the main airbag occurs.

Safety device for a vehicle occupant

An occupant protection device with an airbag for fastening in a vehicle seat. In order, in an occupant protection device of this type, to make it possible for the seat to be produced and installed very simply and cost-effectively and to achieve reliable deployment of the airbag, the invention proposes that the occupant protection device has a receiving container for the airbag, which container is free of closure flaps, and the opening of the receiving container is covered by a seat cover of the vehicle seat. In this case, the seat cover is to be fastened to a side wall of the receiving container in such a manner that, when the airbag is inflated with gas, the seat cover tears open in the region of the opening of the receiving container.

Occupant protection device

An occupant protection device for a motor vehicle occupant. The device includes an airbag arranged on a motor vehicle body in the region of a lateral roof edge of a motor vehicle, the airbag being configured to deploy downwards during inflation so that the inflated airbag extends in front of at least one side window of the motor vehicle; and a guide extending longitudinally and being connected to the lower edge of the airbag. The guide is movably guided on the motor vehicle body in the direction of deployment of the airbag.

Occupant protection device for motor vehicle occupants

A vehicle has an airbag arrangement for protecting the occupant from neck whiplash during a front or rear collision and the cervical spine during a vehicle roll over. The airbag arrangement has an airbag device integrated with the vehicle seat. The airbag device has at least one airbag for protecting the occupant's head/neck region. The airbag is fully inflated when the vehicle rolls over. In that state, the airbag projects from the vehicle seat in such a way that it actively bends the occupant's head toward the occupant's chest, i.e., rolls the upper body for better protection. During a front and rear collision without a roller over, however, the airbag only partially inflates to an extent to position the airbag between the occupant's head and the head restraint, without displacing the occupant's head with the airbag.

Airbag arrangement, method thereof, and a vehicle with the airbag arrangement thereof

The invention relates to an airbag apparatus for motor vehicles, in particular to a side airbag apparatus comprising a gas generator and a gas filling tube. The tube is provided along its length at predetermined distances gas overflow openings. The openings are connected to an inflatable gas bag which extends at least over a greater portion of the length of the tube and preferably consists of individual cells. Each cell is associated with a pair of gas outflow openings. The gas outflow openings are formed by incisions in the wall of the gas filling tube and by indentations of the tube wall material on one side of the incisions and extending at an angle to the tube axis.

Airbag apparatus

An inflatable airbag for a motor vehicle is provided. The airbag includes a main chamber configured to be connected to a gas generator. The airbag is arranged so that when the airbag is inflated at least a portion of the main chamber covers a side wall of the vehicle. The airbag may further include an additional airbag region configured to form an approximately spherically shaped chamber when inflated. The spherically shaped chamber may be configured to be inflated via the main chamber. The spherical chamber provides for an advantageous shortening of the airbag when the airbag is inflated when compared to the dimensions of the airbag in its spread out or uninflated state.
