A method for adjusting the brightness of a display in a vehicle, to a display system having display electronics that are configured to carry out such a method, and to a vehicle that has a corresponding display system is disclosed. The method comprises selecting a region of the display, the region being defined by a number of pixels that is less than the number of pixels of the display, and incorporating a brightness value into the selected region each pixel in the selected region being assigned the same brightness value and the brightness value being associated through a calculation rule with each pixel of the selected region.

A display system comprises a display, configured for displaying data, wherein the display comprises an inactive display edge not configured for displaying, and an active display inner surface configured for displaying. The display system further comprises a backlighting module having luminous units, wherein the backlighting module is arranged directly or indirectly at a rear side of the display, such that the light emitted by the luminous units forms a backlight for the display. The backlighting module comprises a backlighting edge corresponding to the display edge and comprises a backlighting inner surface corresponding to the display inner surface. The display system further comprises and a control system for driving the luminous units. A vehicle comprising a display system and a method for operating a display system is also provided.

Display system and method for operating a display system

The invention relates to a method for reducing the start-up time of a driver information system in a vehicle comprising providing a driver information system having an operating mode, a standby mode, and a hibernation mode. The driver information system is operated with operating power in the operating mode, is not supplied with operating power in the hibernation mode, and is operated with reduced operating power in the standby mode. A seat occupancy detection device is provided for detecting seat occupancy of at least one vehicle seat. An activation system is provided for activating and operating the driver information system in the operating mode at least when the activation system is active; and changing the driver information system from the operating mode to the standby mode when the activation system is switched off and when seat occupancy is detected at the same time.

A head-up display for a vehicle provides image warping. The head-up display comprises at least one sensor, an image generator, a display unit and a mirror unit. A correction unit is furthermore arranged following the image generator.

In a test method, a screen in a vehicle is actuated in order to generate a specified raster image. An electric current intensity flowing as a result of the actuation is measured, and the measured current intensity is compared with a specified reference current intensity. It is ascertained whether the raster image was generated without errors dependent on the comparison.

An indicating instrument for a vehicle includes an analog indication of the current measured value and has a variable indication of a reference value. An automatic setting device indicates the reference value based on variable data that are significant for the indicated measured variable. The entire indicating instrument is rotated by the setting device so that the pointer is aligned horizontally when the current measured value agrees with the reference value.
