A truck for a railway vehicle has a truck frame with four individual wheels, which are mounted so that they can rotate around horizontal axles, and whereby one wheel pair is driven. To be able to negotiate tight curves with minimal wear, maximum safety and low construction costs, and to be able to achieve higher speeds on straight segments of track, the driven wheel pair can be steered radially with respect to the curve around a common vertical axis as a function of a setpoint determined by a sensor system, while the non-driven individual wheels are combined into a self-steering individual wheel module so that they can each pivot around their own vertical axes, and can be coupled together so that they are synchronized by means of a steering device.

Running gear for rail vehicles

On a railway vehicle with a car body and a truck with an undercarriage, the car body is supported on the truck by means of connecting devices. To achieve increased operating safety even in the event of a malfunction or failure of the connecting devices, the actuator is fastened rigidly on one end to the truck, and is connected to the car body by means of the mechanical series system consisting of a ball-and-socket joint and a sliding connector.

A coupling element unit with spring action is located between a car body and an undercarriage of a railway vehicle. To largely relieve the coupling element unit from forces that act at a right angle to the suspension direction, a sliding adapter is provided that has two sliding elements and that can be displaced with respect to one another parallel to a floor of the car body.

A rail vehicle equipped with a support actuator of variable vertical length mounted between a vehicle body and a running gear located underneath. In order to maintain an operational supporting device and adequate ride comfort after a failure or overload of the support actuator, an emergency spring coaxial with the support actuator is provided, which only becomes effective when the stroke of the support actuator falls short of a preset value.

A running gear for a rail vehicle having sprung longitudinal members of plastic, connected to one another by means of a cross-member structure and at their free ends to axle-boxes for rail wheels. In order to obtain optimal stability of the wheelset guidance with reduced loading of the sprung longitudinal members, the longitudinal members each has at least two flexural springs between the ends of which in each case an axle-box is fixed in symmetrical arrangement.

A bogie for rail vehicles, in particular a driven bogie, with a bogie frame, includes two or more wheelset units each of which comprises at least one drive unit and/or brake unit. The wheeset units are connected with the bogie frame via a primary suspension. A secondary suspension connects a vehicle body with the bogie frame. A rigid connecting link extends from at least one of the wheelset units for connecting the bogie to the vehicle body. The rigid connecting link is coupled to the wheelset unit at its virtual center of rotation. Where practical, the center of rotation and the center of mass are coincident to minimize the moment of inertia of the wheelset units.
