A bioreactor having a filter unit and a method for treating a cell broth. The filter unit has a supply channel (), a first filter medium (), a retentate channel (), a second filter medium () and a permeate channel (), arranged so that the first filter medium delimits the supply channel and the retentate channel from one another; and the second filter medium delimits the retentate channel and the permeate channel from one another. The supply channel is connected to an inlet for a supply medium; the retentate channel is connected to an inlet for a cell broth and to an outlet for the cell broth; the permeate channel is connected to an outlet for a permeate; and the interior of the bioreactor is connected to the inlet for the cell broth and to the outlet for the cell broth.

Bioreactor with filter unit and method for treating a cell broth

A device and a method for repeatedly modifying the composition of a fluid. The device includes a first module () modifying the composition of the fluid, a second module () modifying the composition of the fluid and a dwell module () with an inlet () and an outlet (). The first module is connected in a fluid-conducting manner to the dwell module inlet and the dwell module outlet is connected in a fluid-conducting manner to the second module. Either the first or the second module is a filter unit, or the first module is a first filter unit and the second module is a second filter unit. Device and method for repeatedly modifying the composition of a fluid

A crossflow filtration unit for continuous diafiltration of a feed fluid for obtaining a retentate and a permeate, a corresponding method for diafiltration and the use of the crossflow filtration unit are provided. The crossflow filtration unit includes a diafiltration channel, a flat first filter material, a retentate channel, a flat second filter material, and a permeate collection channel, arranged such that the flat first filter material delimits the diafiltration channel and the retentate channel from one another, and the flat second filter material delimits the retentate channel and the permeate collection channel from one another. The diafiltration channel is fluidly connected to at least one inlet for the diafiltration medium, the retentate channel is fluidly connected to at least one inlet for the feed fluid and to at least one outlet for the retentate. The permeate collection channel is fluidly connected to at least one outlet for the permeate.

Crossflow filtration unit for continuous diafiltration

The proposed prefabricated filtration module is provided for a modular filtration system, in particular a cross-flow filtration system, for low-volume screening applications. The prefabricated filtration module includes fluid ports and a plurality of components adjusted to low-volume screening applications, which are firmly integrated into the filtration module. The entire filtration module is designed as a single-use filtration module.

The invention relates to a filter module and an apparatus for the static filtration of liquids using filter cells having deep bed filter layers and using spacer layers. According to the invention the filter module has a stack of n filter cells and n+1 spacer layers for filtrate and at least one channel arranged in the interior of the filter module. In this case n is &#x2267;1. The filter cells consist of a draining spacer layer for feed liquid and deep bed filter layers which are arranged in a sandwichlike manner thereto and which are joined to one another at their circumference toward the at least one channel at the rim via a sealing compound and wherein the spacer layers for filtrate are furnished with the sealing compound at the rim on their external circumference. The invention relates to improved cross-flow filter cassettes for the filtration of liquid media, which are used in cross-flow filtration devices of varying pump outputs and can be fitted with non-reinforced membranes. The cassettes comprise at least one retentate separator in which the inlets to the open perforations designed to form one type of channel, for example for retentate discharge, are larger than the inlets to the open perforations designed to form another type of channel, for example for fluid feed. In comparison with known cross-flow filter cassettes, the cross-flow filter cassettes of the invention allow retentate flows required to achieve equal filtration output at equal pressure differential on the retentate side at least 1.8 times lower. This significantly reduces the energy input required for pumping to conduct cross-flow filtration.

Cross-flow filter cartridge

A filtration or diffusion cell, consisting of adjacent facing support plates and cut diaphragm sections of a semi-permeable diaphragm, for the treating fluids. The support plates are sealed by stringlike or bandlike sealing elements for the separate flow conduction of the fluids. Support plates are provided with channel grooves, for holding the sealing elements. The channel grooves are open toward the plate plane and are provided with perforations through which a sealing material inserted in a flowable state and solidified in the grooves. Several support plates are connected by the sealing material to form a plate holder-like unit, and form seals for separate flow conduction. The support plates are square-shaped, and the front side and the back side of the cut diaphragm sections are subjected to crosswise flow of the fluid. The cut diaphragm sections are supported by grooves and groove crests extending in flow direction of the support plates. The grooves are provided with longitudinally spaced passages leading to the opposite side of the support plates. Flow barriers crossing the grooves under an angle of about 45.degree. bring about a uniform overflowing of the diaphragm surfaces and prevent shortcuts.
