To determine an auditory threshold of a test subject, according to the method, multiple tone sets, which predominantly contain a plurality of noises, having properties remaining uniform within a tone set, are presented in succession to a test subject by use of an output transducer. The test subject is asked to indicate a perceived number of noises from the presented tone set after each presentation of one of these tone sets. As a function of the perceived number of noises, a property of at least one part of the noises is changed in relation to the preceding tone set for the presentation of a following tone set and the following tone set is presented to the test subject. As a function of the respective perceived number of noises in the presented tone sets, at least one value of the auditory threshold of the test subject is estimated.

A system, method and computer program are configured to interactively assist a user in evaluating and/or configuring a hearing aid. The system is equipped with a display element, with an input unit and with a processing unit. The environmental situations are shown on the display element. Based on a user input, a selected section of the environmental situation is determined and highlighted. A specific hearing situation is presented on the basis of the selection made by the user. An evaluation scale is displayed, allowing the user to enter a hearing value for a self-assessment of his hearing ability for the specific hearing situation, and the hearing value entered by the user is recorded. The above steps are repeated and hearing values are recorded for different specific hearing situations. Based on the hearing values entered by the user, setting values for the hearing aid are determined.

System, method and computer program for interactively assisting a user in evaluating a hearing loss

A fault recognition in a hearing aid of a user includes providing an actual image of a component of the hearing aid and comparing the actual image with reference images. An analysis unit carries out an image comparison, in which the actual image is compared to one or a plurality of reference images, which each show the component in a state, of which it is previously known whether the component is faulty or faultless. The analysis unit determines as a state of the component of the actual image that state which is assigned to the reference image which is most similar to the actual image. This recognizes whether the component is faulty or faultless. A system has an analysis unit that is configured to carry out the method.

Method and system for fault recognition in a hearing aid

A method operates a hearing system which has a hearing instrument worn in an ear. The method includes capturing a sound signal from an environment, processing the captured sound signal in dependence of a set of signal processing parameters, and outputting a processed sound signal to the user. The method further includes analyzing the captured sound signal to recognize own-voice intervals, in which the user speaks, analyzing the captured sound signal for an acoustic feature of the own voice of the user and/or analyzing a signal of a bio sensor. The bio sensor measures at least one non-acoustic vital function of the user and determines, from the acoustic feature and/or the non-acoustic vital function of the user, a measure of an emotional state of the user. A value of a signal processing parameter is adapted, within the own-voice intervals, to change the emotional state if a criterion is fulfilled.

Method for operating a hearing instrument and hearing system containing a hearing instrument

A hearing aid device and a method for operating the hearing aid device. The hearing aid device has an acousto-electrical transducer, a signal processing unit, an electro-acoustic transducer and a unit for recognizing a wearer's own voice. The hearing aid device detects and recognizes the wearer's own voice by way of the recognition unit and, when the wearer's own voice has been detected, operates the signal processing unit with a modified signal processing parameter that is modified such that the sound of the wearer's own voice is improved.

Method and device for the improved perception of one's own voice

Hearing apparatuses, in particular hearing aids, have improved intelligibility. This is accomplished by a method for amplifying a speech signal for a hearing apparatus by detection of an input sound, determining an input level of the input sound and amplification of the input sound. A mean input level of the input sound is determined and it is established whether the input sound has a speech component. If not, the input signal is amplified in dependence on the input level in accordance with a predefined first amplification characteristic. However, if a speech component is found, the input signal is amplified in dependence on the input level in accordance with a predefined second amplification characteristic. The second amplification characteristic is formed in dependence on the mean input level such that amplification is increased with respect to first amplification characteristic in a predefined level interval below the mean input level.

The adjustment of the signal processing carried out by a hearing aid to the individual hearing loss of a user is intended to be simplified. For this purpose, a number of predefined adjustment programs, from which the user selects a suitable program by operating an operating element, are provided in the hearing aid. Neither a visit to a hearing aid acoustician nor special adjustment devices is/are required for adjustment.

A method for setting a device for presenting sound specimens for the individual tuning of a hearing device to be worn on the body of a hearing device wearer. The method includes providing and presenting a noise signal by the device, receiving the presented noise signal by at least one microphone of the hearing device, comparing the received noise signal or a signal derived therefrom with a reference signal stored in the hearing device, and emitting a status signal by the hearing device in dependence on the comparison. In this manner, simple and precise setting of the device for emitting sound specimens for calibration purposes occurs.

A hearing device that is worn in the ear has a hearing aid and a support device with a runner. The support device remains stationarily inserted in the auditory canal, while the hearing aid is moveably connected to the runner and moveably arranged along the runner. This provides for a hearing device that allows a simple, intuitively understandable modification of the volume and/or sound properties.

A hearing apparatus for adjusting a hearing aid and an associated method. The apparatus includes at least one hearing aid and at least one external unit which can exchange data with the hearing aid. It further includes a first memory unit in the external unit which stores a point in time and a hearing situation at which at least one predeterminable algorithm for signal processing is activated, an output unit in the external unit which outputs the stored points in time and hearing situations, an input unit in the external unit for entering a measure of evaluation which expresses the satisfaction of a hearing aid wearer with the activated algorithm, and a modification unit in the hearing aid for changing at least one parameter of the algorithm as a function of the measure of evaluation. The hearing aid user is able to evaluate and change the setting of their hearing aid retrospectively for specific hearing situations.

Method and hearing apparatus for adjusting a hearing aid with data recorded in an external unit

An earphone facility is proposed to reduce feedback in hearing devices with an external earphone. The earphone facility includes an earphone, which is embodied to convert electrical signals, and an earpiece, which lies snugly against the auditory canal when the earphone facility is being worn. A stem is attached to the earphone, having a smaller circumference than the smallest circumference of the earphone. Also a support element is disposed between the stem and an internal wall of the earpiece, said support element holding the stem in the earpiece in a movable manner. With this structure vibrations of the earphone are barely transmitted to the earpiece so that feedback is ultimately reduced.

The wearing comfort and acoustics in an external receiver, in particular in a cymba hearing device, are to be improved. A receiver facility with a receiver, which is embodied to convert the electrical signals into acoustic signals, and an earpiece, which adjusts to an auditory canal when the hearing apparatus is being worn, are thus proposed. A base part is also provided, to which the earpiece is fastened and to which the receiver is moveably fastened at least in respect of a section of the base part. The mobility of the receiver relative to the earpiece decouples the wearing function of the earpiece relative to a centering function in respect of the receiver, as a result of which the wearing comfort and acoustics are improved.

A receiver of a hearing apparatus, especially of a hearing device, is proposed. The receiver is sufficiently centered in an auditory canal with an earpiece. The earpiece for inserting into the auditory canal has a first hollow-cylindrical body and a second hollow-cylindrical body that is arranged coaxially with the first body and surrounds the first body, as well as one or more bars that connect the two bodies to each other. On the one hand the bars ensure sufficient stability and on the other certain pliability and in addition they allow ventilation of the space in front of the eardrum.
